Stand out from the crowd

Hi everyone I'm sharing my mixed media painting which is Acrylic base and oil pastel flowers on a mount board (backboard of photos)
To start I applied a good coat of gesso, then added my acrylics adding some starlight Acrylics as well to add a shimmer effect )(shame it can't be seen in pic)
Drying in between each layer so not to muddy it up, I applied it with either a brush or brayer using water to get it moving. I then added some stencil shapes to add texture. I then decided to add a few brusho's here and there and spritz to activate.
After I was completely happy with the background I added some stamps texture using a text stamp and archival ink.
Then it was down to the images these I gently drew in place with a light pencil and coloured in with more gesso, then went over with an oil pastel to give me the outline in the darkest of my chosen colours (the black outline was the last thing added)
I added the lightest colour next to the middle and blended now it does take a lot of blending to get started but once it's warmed up it's fine. I kept adding colour to add dimension and once happy I outlined with a watercolour pencil and drew the stem.
I wasn't really happy with the outline so I used a piece of charcoal and was pleased with that look so left it there.
All that was needed now was to frame the actual art and I did this with a black oil pastel then add my sentiment.
So there you have it hope you like it.

Mr & Mrs

Well hello again, ‘m so far behind in posting cards I’ve made it’s terrible. My MH is in a bad way and I can’t focus I seem to drift through the days not knowing what I’ve done and before I know the day has gone and I’ve done hardly any of what I wanted. Oh well tiny steps I guess.

So today I’m sharing a card I made in March for a friends wedding (yes March I know shameful)
Anyway, the papers are from my stash I think from pixel scrapper but not 100% sure now. I made the flower embellishment from lace and tulle then added a pearl brad to the middle.

The image is from Make it Crafty link below which I coloured with polychromo and prisma pencils.

The insert is made in my usual way using papers from the front then bringing the image in to tie it together then adding a verse.

So there it is hope you like it and I’ll see you soon promise x

Holy Communion

Happy Friday my crafty friends I hope you are all well. What is going on with our weather here in the UK it’s mad it’s more like February than May. Talking of May I turn the big 5 0 in a couple of weeks getting old not good lol, I sure don’t feel or act it though hehehe.
Anyway enough about that I have another card for you today as my Friday inspiration over at Mo’s Digital Pencil, and my card is one I was asked to make  for a boys first communion. This is what I came up with.

I made it quite clean and simple using just one paper from Pixel Scrapper then printing the image and sentiment all together on a large piece of watercolour paper. I then coloured in with my Polychromo pencils.

To embellish I used a silver crucifix which I added some blue thread to create a bow, I also punched 2 crosses and heat embossed them with silver embossing powder.

To finish the card I made the insert in my usual way using the paper from the front and bringing the image through to tie it all together and added a fitting verse.

So there you have it I hope you like it and I will see you very soon with another make

Abstract Tulip

Hello peeps I know some of you have seen it already on my timeline but I thought I'd share how it was made.
So I started off by creating the background which was really easy you just add blobs (yep blobs)of paint at the top of your page and use a card of some sort (old credit cart store card) and then drag the paint down the page wiggling as you go (yep get your wiggle going)make sure to go right to bottom yes can add more paint if needed.

Once that was dry I got some of the mesh that you use for plastering a wall and started playing with that.I then got a natural sponge and added paint with this add more texture. I then added some letters with a stencil some went a little blurry as the paint was runny but was ok. to finish off I added some circles by stamping a tube from tin foil, I just the tube into usable lengths and dip the end into paint.

Then I doodled the image this can be anything you want I chose an abstract tulip as I'm no good at drawing really. Then added the other doodles. I did these with an alcohol marker pen but you use black paint if you want to. I painted the tulip and doodles with acrylic paint and once dry I went over with a white green and black uni posca pen to add the detail.
And so there you have it I hope you like it

Lovely Lydia

Hello my lovelies what a glorious couple of days we’ve had I do hope it lasts but seeing the weather reports I feel we are in for some rainy days ahead :o(
It’s my cousins birthday today so I have made her a card using one of the lovely $2 digis (all links will be at bottom of post)

I have used so lovely daisy paper but unfortunately can’t remember who they are from (Sorry)
The image is called Lydia isn’t she adorable? We are showcasing her for our monthly challenge over on Facebook , why not pop over and join in we’d love to see you.

I added the sentiment to the bottom of the image when I printed it out and I coloured her with my trusty polychromo pencils, then inked the edges

To embellish the card I made some paper daisies to go alongside the image. They were so easy to make using a Brittania die and some flower soft

I made the insert in my usual way bringing one of the papers through and also the image to tie it all together then adding the verse.
So there you have it I hope you like it and I will see you very soon

Get well Bernard

Hello again Mo fans, I hope you are all fine and dandy, Well it looks like we might be in for some warmer weather dare I say.

Anyway my card for you today is a get well card I had to make for a friend who has been very poorly
I have used papers from Pixel scrapper(all links will be at bottom of post) Which I have distressed edges.
The image is called Bernard and I coloured him with my trusty polychromo pencils.
To finish off the front I added flat backed gems then moved on to the insert.
I found a fitting verse in my collection so added that to papers I’d used on the front, then brought the image through to tie it together.
So there you have it I hope you like it and I will see you very soon
