3D brusho butterflies

Hello, my lovely people, I hope you are all well. It certainly looks like the end of summer is upon us and Autumn is snapping at its heels. I hate the colder months wish we had the summer we had this year all year round that would do me just grand.
Anyway, on to it, crafting has been for me lately I just haven't got the enthusiasm which is why I have not been posting many makes. And ones I have made seem to have taken me 3 or 4 times longer to make than usual. (mental issues and physical pain are a mojo killer for sure)
But I do have a few to share with you now for a launch that was over the bank holiday weekend.
The show was selling a digi usb that was being launched it has lots of cute images, steampunk, sentiments something for everyone, so over the next few days, I will share my cards I made using some of these images hope you like them.

This is one of my favourite makes using this collection. I took one of the beautiful butterflies and printed it off 3 times on my card blank along with the greeting. Once printed I scored and cut to size I needed.

Then I printed about 9 other butterflies on watercolour paper, fussy cut them out then coloured with brushos. I then layered them up to give a good 3D effect and added a body made flower stamens and pearls then added them to the card.

Stand out from the crowd

Hi everyone I'm sharing my mixed media painting which is Acrylic base and oil pastel flowers on a mount board (backboard of photos)
To start I applied a good coat of gesso, then added my acrylics adding some starlight Acrylics as well to add a shimmer effect )(shame it can't be seen in pic)
Drying in between each layer so not to muddy it up, I applied it with either a brush or brayer using water to get it moving. I then added some stencil shapes to add texture. I then decided to add a few brusho's here and there and spritz to activate.
After I was completely happy with the background I added some stamps texture using a text stamp and archival ink.
Then it was down to the images these I gently drew in place with a light pencil and coloured in with more gesso, then went over with an oil pastel to give me the outline in the darkest of my chosen colours (the black outline was the last thing added)
I added the lightest colour next to the middle and blended now it does take a lot of blending to get started but once it's warmed up it's fine. I kept adding colour to add dimension and once happy I outlined with a watercolour pencil and drew the stem.
I wasn't really happy with the outline so I used a piece of charcoal and was pleased with that look so left it there.
All that was needed now was to frame the actual art and I did this with a black oil pastel then add my sentiment.
So there you have it hope you like it.

Bee-cause I love you

Hello peeps, I’m here today to share my DT post for MO Manning I am still pinching myself about being on this DT (even if it is for a short time)lol.
Anyway let’s get on with my card, this is ANOTHER first for me. Yep can you believe it, check me out trying new things hahaha.
My card is roughly about 6x7”,  I then cut a frame using sue Wilson dies.

I then got some vellum and got to creating the magic lol. Now this is the first for me.
To create the background I stamped (yes physically stamped)  the hearts onto the vellum and then embossed with white embossing powder this created the resist technique I needed. Then I got playing I sprinkled different shades of red brushos onto the vellum and then sprayed lightly with water. I had to be careful not to add to much water as I didn’t want the vellum to buckle too much, I also wanted to still see some of the dots of brushos I didn’t want them all to blend away.
I then punched different size and shaped hearts out of card and coloured with brushos (I just have way to much fun with these paints) then added glossy accents and let dry

Now the fun bit I started to colour my image called Be-Mine she is just so stinking cute I love her. I
coloured her with a mix of polychromo and prisma pencils, then fussy cut her out. I also cut out the sentiment I printed out with her.

Then I put it all together adding the vellum behind the frame then putting the cutie to one side of the card, adding the sentiment then the punched hearts and BINGO all done
Hope you like it and I will see you soon

Good ole Father Christmas

Hello again I hope you all had a great weekend For me it was getting some cards made there are some exciting things coming up in the new year with Polkadoodles but that is all I can say right now (mainly because that is all I know lol) but stay tuned as soon as I can tell you I will. I also have so many cards I want to make using Mo Manning images she has some adorable ones out right now need to get on those.

So for today’s card I have been sitting on it for ages now as I couldn’t posy it on here until I knew my dear friend had received it (I could post it before on facebook but I can’t now as she is on there  here now lol) so I have had to patiently wait.

Well now she has got it so I can finally post it yayyyyyyy
It’s my usual 8x8” card  and my papers are from Polkadoodles (of course, links below) which I have distressed and added splatters of paint and added a cut doily (why not)

I made the embellishments from a Britannia die and coloured with Brushos.  The sentiment is also from Polkadoodles  as is the greeting on the image.
The image is by Mo Manning which I have coloured with polychromo, Prisma and Pablo pencils I added some frontage to the image edges.

I finished the card with a matching insert in my usual style with a verse which I thought was very fitting.

So there you have my card for today hope you like it and I will see you very soon.

Ragged Winne

I’m back again my Lovies with another card to share with you. This is another half Polkadoodles half Mo Manning creation with the same LO as my previous cards.(well why not I’m on a roll)
So the LO is very distressed the papers are Polkadooodles from the festive Christmas and Winnie White Christmas ( you can find the link to get to them below)

I made papers straws from the same papers to coordinate and die cut a poinsettia flower and coloured with brushos.

The sentiment was stamped then embossed to give a little extra sparkle it was another freebie stamp from a magazine

The image is called Ragged Winnie by Mo Manning (I adore these Ragged images) which I have coloured with prisma and Pablo pencils. Then I inked around the edges.

To finish off the card I added an insert, hope you like it and I will see you very soon with more makes

On a Snowball

Well hello, I hope you are all well, for those that know me you will know that for most of my life (for one reason or another )I have had to deal with depression, well at the moment I am going through a very dark time I have tried to keep positive but finding harder and harder, I have mentioned it on face book and I speak openly on there about it but on here I try to keep things light hearted, but I feel at times people need to know the truth and that behind the bubbly posts are a lot of tears and desperation.
I do find my crafting helps but even that can sometimes be a struggle when my mood is really low. That being said I am slowly getting ahead with my Chrimbo cards so I should just about get them finished my new year (only kidding).

Today’s card is a mix of 2 of my favourite Artists Nikky Hall (Polkadoodles) and Mo Manning a wonderful combination!

The papers are from Polkadoodles as I keep saying I love love LOVE these collections (Winnie White Christmas and Festive Christmas collection) the papers are just GORGEOUS. I have used the same design as my previous card (why change what you like) I have distressed them then added some cheese cloth to the back, made some paper straws and die cut a poinsettia which I coloured with brushos (loving these).

The image is called on a snowball from Mo Manning Which I have coloured with a mix of Prisma and Polychromo pencils. I stamped the sentiment which as part of a freebie set from a magazine (think it was Card making magazine)

To finish off the card I made a matching insert and there you have it another crossed off my list yayyyyy!!!!

Nordic Santa

Ok so I am trying desperately to get ahead with my Christmas cards, according to my list I have 6 still to make but it feels as though there should be a lot more so I have probably forgotten someone. Eeekkk not good.

Anyway my share today is made using a few kits from Polkadoodles  I used the image from the Nordic collection and papers from Winnie White Christmas and Festive Christmas collection (I adore the papers from this collection).

I distressed the papers (a lot) but haven’t inked them I have been good and resisted the urge lol. Then I added some corrugated cardboard which I coated in diluted gesso and added glitter.
I made some paper straws and a poinsettia flower (I have made a batch of cards in this style, quite like it).
The image is coloured with Prisma, plolychromo Pablo pencil. I added glitter to the printed sentiment and there you the outside done.

I made a matching insert to finish off the card and Hey presto 1 down.

Hope you like it and I will see you tomorrow with another

Christmas Winter theme for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely crafty peeps I hope you are well I’m just getting over a very bad bout of vertigo (uuggghhh) but  hey ho .
Anyway we have gone weekly for our challenges over at Polkadoodles which is great for you guys as double the fun. We have some amazing new teamies so please pop over and say hello to them and make them feel at home.

So the theme this week for us DT girls is Christmas/ Winter and so as I am trying sooooo hard to get my Christmas cards done on time this year I have made it my mission to do as many as possible.

For this card I have made a card blanks 5½x6½ then printed off my papers which are from a couple of Christmas collections (festive Christmas collection & Twiggy &Toots) which I heavily distressed.
I made some paper straws to add to the side using the same papers then added a die cut poinsettia.
The image is coloured with my prisma pencils and is called Rudolph  from the Winnie White Christmas collection.

Finished off the outside with a simple greeting and then made a matching insert for the inside

White with a Hint

Anyway as always for you it’s anything goes for us we have a theme this week
For our challenge it was white with a hint don’t know if my brain took the hint about the HINT as there seems to be more colour than I realised eeeekkkk that’s what happens when you get carried away

My card is 8x8 and I have use papers and image from the Winnie White Christmas. The colouring is done a little differently for me trying to leave white space so just colouring the shadows

To decorate I die cut the word Christmas out a few time in Kraft then in white and glued together but off set ot add shadow details then made the poinsettia and coloured with brushos (I love these my best buy at Doncaster )

Anyway there you have it hope you like it and I  will see you soon with another make
Have a fab weekend and if you’re going to the NEC HAVE FUN!!!!!!

New release Heart on your sleeve January

Squeallllllll So Phil takes me to Doncaster yesterday to the Dame for the Stamp Magic fair. I spent a fortune, had a catch up with the lovely #Tracy Easson, then came home feeling very chuffed with myself about my new goodies but felling very worse for wear on the ear side of things. I’m really struggling again today in so much pain but hey ho I will go to these places x

So when I got home Nikky (#polkadoodlescraft) asked if any of us DT girls were sick of Christmas makes yet I said yes (even though I have hardly started to get any done) so she sent us some images and eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk I know I say it all the time but OMG they are the best. I do love images with big eyes that you can colour and bring to life they just make the image and January has the biggest soft eyes.
So to me she screamed out Mixed media so after a short gloat of my new stash I started to colour her in.

Then I got to work on the canvas giving a quick coat of gesso and crackle paste.
I added texture paste (homemade) to some of the new stencils I got from Tim Holtz and paperartsy  then added starlight paint distress stains and Brushos (never used before but LOVE them)

I used some scrabble letter tabs to spell the word heart distressed a little the added a painted mdf heart with some threads
I fussy cut the image out and added to the finished canvas
Hope you like it and I will see you soon with more January makes
