Best of the bunch

Hello everyone I have some great news Tomorrow Mo Manning is starting her challenge blog up again  http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/   it’s going to run monthly so will start every first Saturday of the month and finish on the last Saturday of the month Yes you have to use a Mo image to enter but they are super cute so you want to colour them in anyway.
But as its Friday it’s my turn to share my Mo make today with you hope you like it.
So it’s a 7x7” card (yes a little smaller lol) the papers are freebies from Pixel scrapper which I have distressed the edges then matted onto white card. I then added some polkadot ribbon before adding the image.
The image is called phone call C and she is just adorable and a joy to colour, to finish her off I created a mask for her the blended some oxide ink around the outside of the image.
To finish the card I made some daisies, adding glitter to the centres
Well that’s it from me today but I’ll see you again tomorrow with my challenge card

Feed the birds

Good morning everyone I hope you’re all well,, it’s very windy here today as I type this and cold.
AnywayI have a card to share with you today it’s a very clean and simple one for me, but I think the image speaks for itself.

I used red and yellow card for my backing pieces then I wanted a brown but couldn’t find one so I made my own using distress oxide inks.
The image called feed the birds is just adorable and I decided to make it into a thank you card just because lol
I coloured the image with my polychromo pencils  and basically left it at that just cut to size and added to card.
Hope you like it and I will see you soon.

Ragged Anniversary

Hello Mo fans, I’m here today to share my inspiration card for you today.
It was my Mom & Dad (in law) weddding Anniversary on the 1st of this month so I had to make them a card and I came up with this.

I used an 8x8” card blank and backing papers from Polkadoodels  and I have distressed the edges. The sketch I used is from Jules over at http://jules-alwayswithaheart.blogspot.co.uk/

The image is called Ragged Romeo isn’t it just the sweetest I coloured it with my Polychrome, Pablo and Prisma pencils. Then made a mask and inked around the image with Distress oxide inks.
To finish the front I added the sentiment to the bottom of the card by attaching some thin ribbon and securing at the back.

I then added the insert which I made using papers from the front and bringing the image through to tie it all together.

Hope you like it and I’ll see you soon

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas......

OK, so I’m back today as a guest DT member for we love 2 create who are a mixed media challenge blog. They used to be sponsored by Pans Pastels but now the sponsorship has been taken over by our very own  Nikky Hall of Polkadoodles. Now not long ago they had a DT call and I was so so so tempted to apply but my nerve got the better of me and I bottled it,  so When Claire asked if any of us PD DT members would like to be Guest DT  for a challenge I jumped at the chance yayyyyyyy more mixed media(I’m loving it at the moment and really want to do a lot more.

As my week is coming up to Christmas I decided to make a Christmas canvas.

I started with a blank 8x10” canvas and coated with gesso then added a sheet of Christmas paper from one of the many collections over at #polkadoodles I tore the edges of the paper so it would blend better when painted and there would be any harsh lines.

Then I  added so texture using some star and snowflake stencils I added some dotty texture as well. Then I added some circles by cutting lengths off the centre piece from some tin foil (you know the cardboard middle bit) I dipped that into the texture paste (homemade) and added it here and there to the canvas.
I then went all over with a thin coat of gesso to tone everything down I then started to add ink and paint to the canvas (distress stain and oxide inks and starlight acrylic paints). When I was happy(ish) with the inking I decided to move onto my tree (knowing I could go back in and add more colour if I wanted to once it was all in place) So taking sheets from different Christmas collections I printed them off then cout them into sections so I could roll them into straw like tubes.
This was the basic shape for my tree I just had to adjust the sizes of the straws to get smaller as they went up to the top. Once they were done I needed a base so I hand cut a pot shap from white card then using brown distress and oxide inks I went to town colouring it, once happy I shaped it and glued it to my canvas then added the straws to make the tree.

I wasn’t sure what to put at the top of the tree I did think about a star and something but then decided on a bronzey coloured bow and also thought I’d add one the pot as well.
I then went back in with my inks and paint to add some dimension to the tree and I also added some die cut snowflakes that I covered with frontage, I also added some to the canvas. I finished off with a sentiment from one of the papers I just cut out and embossed with clear powder then added splats of paint and ink.
So there you have my Christmas canvas I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it and I’ll see you soon.

Ragged Winne

I’m back again my Lovies with another card to share with you. This is another half Polkadoodles half Mo Manning creation with the same LO as my previous cards.(well why not I’m on a roll)
So the LO is very distressed the papers are Polkadooodles from the festive Christmas and Winnie White Christmas ( you can find the link to get to them below)

I made papers straws from the same papers to coordinate and die cut a poinsettia flower and coloured with brushos.

The sentiment was stamped then embossed to give a little extra sparkle it was another freebie stamp from a magazine

The image is called Ragged Winnie by Mo Manning (I adore these Ragged images) which I have coloured with prisma and Pablo pencils. Then I inked around the edges.

To finish off the card I added an insert, hope you like it and I will see you very soon with more makes

Christmas Winter theme for Polkadoodles

Hello lovely crafty peeps I hope you are well I’m just getting over a very bad bout of vertigo (uuggghhh) but  hey ho .
Anyway we have gone weekly for our challenges over at Polkadoodles which is great for you guys as double the fun. We have some amazing new teamies so please pop over and say hello to them and make them feel at home.

So the theme this week for us DT girls is Christmas/ Winter and so as I am trying sooooo hard to get my Christmas cards done on time this year I have made it my mission to do as many as possible.

For this card I have made a card blanks 5½x6½ then printed off my papers which are from a couple of Christmas collections (festive Christmas collection & Twiggy &Toots) which I heavily distressed.
I made some paper straws to add to the side using the same papers then added a die cut poinsettia.
The image is coloured with my prisma pencils and is called Rudolph  from the Winnie White Christmas collection.

Finished off the outside with a simple greeting and then made a matching insert for the inside

Lighting the way for Christmas

Happy Friday crafty peeps I ope you are all well the weather has definitely started to turn colder now (Bbbbrrrrr) so with with that being said it’s time to start making those Christmas cards!!!!!! :0O  We all know that Christmas creeps p on us all to quickly and we are forever playing catch up to make sure we have all our cards made and ready (I know I do every year) I even remember the year before last still making them on Christmas eve!!!!!!
So we have a new challenge for you over at #Polkadoodles f as alway for you guys it’s anything goes but for us DT gals the theme is Christmas (well you never saw that coming did ya!!!)
We have had a massive response to the new Winnie Christmas release and it’s not surprising she is just adorable I do love Winnie. Now there is not just the download OH no!!!!! Nikky has gone all out with this collection there are paper packs with die cut Winnies and also for those that still love to have a CDrom rather than download she has brought this collection into the 21st century and brought it out on a USB (yes a USB) which comes in it’s own container for safe keeping or you upcycle it and get crafty with it.
Also for those that love physical stamps there is a gorgeous collection of Winnies on clear stamps and that is what I have used for my card today.
Yes you read correctly the queen of digi has been stamping lol I treated myself to the Tonic/ Tim Holtz stamping platform as I am Rubbish at stamping I can never get a good clean print which was I turned to digis but there are some projects that need a stamp and hey ho I wanted to give it a go.
So this was my first play with the stamp platform and the stamps and I’m well impressed with both (Woohoooo)

I  did my usual 8x8” card but I wanted to keep it pretty clean and simple and decided to do a trellis design down the edge (again something new for me) it’s so easy and such a great effect.

The papers I used were what come with the stamp set and is called holly jolly they’re 6x6” and I love them some of them are available in other collections but it’s still worth it.
I coloured Winnie Lighting the way with a mix of polychrome, Pablo and prisma pencils  and the sentiments are also cut out from one of the papers.

I just distressed the edges of everything and added some distress ink and hey presto it’s Christmas.
Hope you like it and I will see you very soon with another PD make

Winnie White Christmas last day launch

Good afternoon my lovelies I hope you aere enjoying all the Christmas makes for our DT. Girls you are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
I have to say it was a rocky start for me this release I honestly didn’t think I would be able take put or I would only be able to do a couple of cards so I was  really pleased to get my 7 yes seven little beauties ready.
I also treated myself to the stamp set (Ssssshhhhhh don’t tell Hubster hehehe)  so I’m having a play these too with my tim holtz/tonic stamp station OMG it’s a dream I love it the images are so crisp LOVE IT!!!

AnyHOOOOOO back to the card I made a Kraft card blank using 2 sheets of A4 kraft card then added Kraft to the back of all my papers I was trying to give it a vintagey feeling but still colourful and pretty.
I distressed the papers tearing in some places  and inked with oxide inks (I love these they’re sooooo blendable.

The image Called Winnie and Pengiun has been coloured with a mix of Pablo and Prisma pencils and then mounted onto Kraft card. I then added iced diamond and snow dust to the floor to give the effect of freshly fallen snow. I also masked off the image and went around it with oxide inks to create the background again in doing this these seem more blendable than the normal distress inks.

For the embellishments I took one of the word arts from the set and added clear embossing powder I did this a couple of times to give a good coverage, then I cut out the flower and leaves from the foliage section again I clear embossed the top sections of these then cut into some of the petal to give a more 3D effect then added a flat backed stone. To finish the look I added frontage and splatters of paint to the card.

The final step was the insert and that was done in my usual way (but a little differently) instead of brightening the inner paper and the fading it I just faded the edges letting it merge into the paper behind  then added the uncoloured image and a verse from the sentiment section.
Hope you like it and I will see you again very soon as I think I now have the Christmas bug lol

Winnie day 5 rolling snowballs

Happy Sunday Everyone I hope you’re having a great weekend. It’s party time over at Polkadoodles and Winnie is winning every ones heart
For this card I decided to try and make another vintage looking card I made the card blank using craft card that I die cut the front with a stitch effect square using ASue Wilson die in fact I used the set on most of the papers.  I added some frontage to the papers as well to give that snowy feeling.

The image is called Winnie rolling snowballs and I have coloured with a mix of Pablo and prisma pencils.

The sentiment is from the word art section on the download and I have jusy added some clear embossing powder to it.

To finish I added 3 snowflakes from my stash then moved on to the insert which is made using the same papers and the uncoloured version of the image then I added one of the sentiments that is in the collection and there you have it.

I hope you like it and hopefully I will have my next one ready for you tomorrow better get a wiggle on (things keep going wrong lol)

Winnie Day 4 OnEsie

And I’m back with my 4th card for this release, I have to say I don’t usually enjoy making Christmas cards this time of year it’s seems a chore and I’m not really in the Christmas spirit  then I get to the middle of December and  BANG!!! I have soooo many to mak. But not with this collection I’m loving making then and I hope it shows in the finished cards.

For this card I have kept with my usual 8x8” but this time made a card blank from Kraft card and used Kraft card as back for some of the papers.

I have added frontage to the edges of some of the papers and distressed with a mix of normal distress inks and oxides

Winnie-Rudie Onsie is an adorable image to colour with I did with a mix of pencils (polys Prisma Pablos ). I then used Oxide inks to create the background.I forgot to mention I added some google eyes to the onesie for a fun look.

I embellished the card using images from the embellishment section I decided on some stockings to hand at the side I printed 6 off in total so I could double them up to make the stronger and the top one I added clear embossing powder. I did the same with the greeting which is also from this collection and I added a touch of frontage to this also.

I finished the outside by adding a couple of bells tied with some gold thread.
Finally to complete the card I made the insert using the papers from the front and bringing Winnie through then adding another sentiment from the selection.
So I hope you like it and yes I will more Winnie for you tomorrow

Winnie White Christmas day 3

Well it’s day 3 of the new release over at Polkadoodles  Winnie is proving to be a big hit again and it’s no surprise she is adorable if you haven’t got yours yet you need to (link below)

Now this card OMG it very nearly didn’t happen. It came about Nikky sent me the download to start working in my card for this release then I was struck down with vertigo when I have a bad bout of this it wipes me off my feet completely so I really thought I wouldn’t be able to continue being part of the release. Anyway I had printed everything off and coloured the image just before the vertigo hit then last weekend I started to feel a lot better so I thought lets get stuck in (maybe I  jumped in a little too soon) as I couldn’t  concentrate I made so many mistakes even decapitating poor Winnie yes I sliced right through her head so I had to re colour the image then my printer started playing up and basically start from scratch  Oh Boy!!!!!!!
Anyhooo I did finally make the card although a little different to my original design.
So everything I have used is part of the kit except for the ribbon, glitter and gems. I distressed and inked the edges of the papers (which as I have said before are gorgeous)

I coloured the imaged with a mix of pencils (Prisma, Polychromo, Pablo, Luminance)
The embellishments are taken from the foliage section of the download and then I added clear embossing powder to the top layer and also added some frontage.

The flower I layered up to give it more dimension and also cut into some of the petals on the second layer adding a flat backed gem to the centre.

I finished the card off by making the insert using the same papers as on the front one of the coloured images and another off the sentiments and there you have my 3rd card.
I will see you again tomorrow with another make until have a great Friday and weekend
