70th Anniversary part 2

Good morning my lovelies I hope you're all well as it's Friday I have my Mo Manning card ready to inspire you I do hope you like it, I told you a few weeks ago that it was my grandparent's in law 70th wedding anniversary so I wanted to make them a nice card
So this is what I came up with I hope you like it.

I have used papers from Polkadoodles  which I've distressed and inked with Rare Earth blending inks.
The image Tom and Tilly has been coloured in my polychromo and pablo pencils. then I made a little floral embellishment just to finish it off.

70 years as Husband & Wife

Hello my lovelies I do hope you're all well and enjoying the weather although it's a tad colder here today :-( but I guess it has to come to an end at some point but I do LOVE the sunny hot days
Well it's that time again for me to share my Friday inspiration with you. And what an inspiration I have for you this week. It's not that I have made a blinder of a card or coloured the image Amazingly it's the reason behind the card(  all links will be at bottom of post)
Next month is grandparents in law's 70th (   yes I said 70th, 70 years marriage ) So My MiL (  it's her parents ) asked if I'd make a card for them from her.
So this is what I came up with hope you like it

For my card I have used papers from Polkadoodles which I distressed and added to the card then made a paper doily from a die I have which I cut in half and added to the top and bottom corner.

The image is a merge of Aunt Helen ( she still reminds of the old woman in the home alone film lol)
I coloured them both with my polychromos and kept the card pretty CAS I printed the sentiment along with images.
I distress the edges of the image and then masked off the image and coloured the background with distress inks.

To embellish the card I wanted to again keep it simple but wanted some hearts so I die cut a few sizes and then embossed them. I didn't have any platinum embossing powder so I made my own with a mix of silver, holographic and a pale gold. I think it turned out quite cool.

I finished off with the insert in my usual style using the same paper on the front then adding a matt and the verse.
And there you have it.

Lets Celebrate with Helga

Hello Polkadoodle fans, I’m back today with a new card for our brand new challenge this week. For us DT girls the challenge theme is celebrations but for you lovelies, it’s always anything goes. I decided to make a retirement card using the lovely Helga.

It’s a pretty straightforward card using a couple of the design sheets and fussy cutting some of the embellishments out then adding them to the card. No colouring either for this as I used one of the pre coloured images from one of the design sheets.
Anyway, have a happy crafty weekend and I’ll see you soon

And a good dash of Gin

Hello Mo fans, I’m back today with my Friday inspiration for Mo’s Dream team.

For my card today I have used Sugar & spice and coloured her in with my Polychromo pencils

I have teamed her up with some of my favourite polkadoodle papers and I have used a sketch from Jules (Always with a heart) for the LO

I embellished the card with some flat backed gems and flowers.
Then it was on to the insert, this card is for a cousin of mine so added a cheeky greeting inside (she likes her gin) and I thought it was quite fitting lol.

Anyway there you have it hope you like it and I’ll see you very soon

New Beginnings over at Polkadoodles

Hello crafty peeps I’m here today sharing my DT make for the new challenge over at Polkadoodles . This week us DT girls have been set the challenge to make something with the theme new beginnings so I headed straight for the Celebrations kit (kit 1) and used new job and teamed her up with one of the papers from the kit and one of the sentiments. I wanted the card to be clean and simple so I printed the sentiment straight onto the paper then after colouring her with my polychromo pencils I fussy cut her out and added her with 3D tape.
Don’t forget for you guys the theme is always Anything Goes so come on over and join us.
Hope you like it and I will see you very soon

Hello everyone, I’m back today to share a card I made before Christmas it was for a  new release over at Polkadoodles called Little Monsters they’re  such fun images and papers
I have 5 to share with you but will do one at a time so here’s today’s
It’s an A5 card I actually didn’t use any of the images for this card I just used one of the papers and a sentiment I cut a circle which is a die from Polkadoodles as well (all links below )
I used the circle die to cut a partial circle out of another piece of A5  card that I had printed the greeting on. I then inked the edges with distress oxide ink, I attached the paper to my card blank then added the piece with the circle cut out to finish off I added a few embellishments in the form of some eyes and science bottle and bingo job done.
I hope you like it you find all the links you need below and I will see you soon with another little monster make.

Christmas Eve Countdown

Shake it off
Hello again I am back sharing the card I made for my wonderful Hubby Phil.
For this card I have used papers from Polkadoodles (again they’re the best) and Ihave heavily distressed them, curling back some of the edges.

The image is called Christmas Eve countdown and is from Make it crafty  I HAVE COLOURED HIM WITH A MIX OF Polychromo and Prisma pencils. TBH I was dreading colouring this in as there is a lot of background and I haven’t done much background colouring practice with pencils plus the chimney but I think I did ok.

To embellish the card I made a snowflake out of craft pegs I saw # Marta Łapkowska do a tutorial of one using full size ones so I scaled it down and used some crafty ones and am pretty pleased with it. I then added some large glittered/gold berry pins to the greeting to complete the look

For the insert I made this in my usual style and added the black and white image to tie it together

For our Daughter at Christmas

Well it’s Christmas eve and I still have some cards to share with you EEEEeeekkkkkk best get cracking

So straight into it this is one I have made for Amy I have used papers from Polkadoodles (well they are the best) I have heavily distressed the edges it’s been my ‘thing’ this year lol

The image is called Neve from Make it crafty and I have coloured her with a mix of prisma luminance and polychromo pencils

To embellish the card I took some dark silver/grey ribbon and threaded through a large teal bell they’re actually tree or gift decorations but why waste them on those things lol. Then I added 3 glittered/gold large berry top pins.

The inside is done in my usual fashion but I decided as the verse was quite long (and very meaningful) I would leave the image out.
So there you have it hope you like it and I will see you later with another card oh and a very Merry Christmas to you all

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas......

OK, so I’m back today as a guest DT member for we love 2 create who are a mixed media challenge blog. They used to be sponsored by Pans Pastels but now the sponsorship has been taken over by our very own  Nikky Hall of Polkadoodles. Now not long ago they had a DT call and I was so so so tempted to apply but my nerve got the better of me and I bottled it,  so When Claire asked if any of us PD DT members would like to be Guest DT  for a challenge I jumped at the chance yayyyyyyy more mixed media(I’m loving it at the moment and really want to do a lot more.

As my week is coming up to Christmas I decided to make a Christmas canvas.

I started with a blank 8x10” canvas and coated with gesso then added a sheet of Christmas paper from one of the many collections over at #polkadoodles I tore the edges of the paper so it would blend better when painted and there would be any harsh lines.

Then I  added so texture using some star and snowflake stencils I added some dotty texture as well. Then I added some circles by cutting lengths off the centre piece from some tin foil (you know the cardboard middle bit) I dipped that into the texture paste (homemade) and added it here and there to the canvas.
I then went all over with a thin coat of gesso to tone everything down I then started to add ink and paint to the canvas (distress stain and oxide inks and starlight acrylic paints). When I was happy(ish) with the inking I decided to move onto my tree (knowing I could go back in and add more colour if I wanted to once it was all in place) So taking sheets from different Christmas collections I printed them off then cout them into sections so I could roll them into straw like tubes.
This was the basic shape for my tree I just had to adjust the sizes of the straws to get smaller as they went up to the top. Once they were done I needed a base so I hand cut a pot shap from white card then using brown distress and oxide inks I went to town colouring it, once happy I shaped it and glued it to my canvas then added the straws to make the tree.

I wasn’t sure what to put at the top of the tree I did think about a star and something but then decided on a bronzey coloured bow and also thought I’d add one the pot as well.
I then went back in with my inks and paint to add some dimension to the tree and I also added some die cut snowflakes that I covered with frontage, I also added some to the canvas. I finished off with a sentiment from one of the papers I just cut out and embossed with clear powder then added splats of paint and ink.
So there you have my Christmas canvas I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it and I’ll see you soon.

Good ole Father Christmas

Hello again I hope you all had a great weekend For me it was getting some cards made there are some exciting things coming up in the new year with Polkadoodles but that is all I can say right now (mainly because that is all I know lol) but stay tuned as soon as I can tell you I will. I also have so many cards I want to make using Mo Manning images she has some adorable ones out right now need to get on those.

So for today’s card I have been sitting on it for ages now as I couldn’t posy it on here until I knew my dear friend had received it (I could post it before on facebook but I can’t now as she is on there  here now lol) so I have had to patiently wait.

Well now she has got it so I can finally post it yayyyyyyy
It’s my usual 8x8” card  and my papers are from Polkadoodles (of course, links below) which I have distressed and added splatters of paint and added a cut doily (why not)

I made the embellishments from a Britannia die and coloured with Brushos.  The sentiment is also from Polkadoodles  as is the greeting on the image.
The image is by Mo Manning which I have coloured with polychromo, Prisma and Pablo pencils I added some frontage to the image edges.

I finished the card with a matching insert in my usual style with a verse which I thought was very fitting.

So there you have my card for today hope you like it and I will see you very soon.
