Christmas tree oh Christmas tree

Hello my lovelies how are you today I hope this post finds you fine and dandy. I am soooo excited to bring you this project .
This week over at Digi choosday we have another challenge for you. The DT  this were given the challenge to make a Christmas decoration blue and white (what!!!!!) as you can imagine my heart lurched and I went really cold and clammy I don’t do Christmas crafting I make cards with the occasional mixed media canvas(Eeekkkkk) Well I do now I guess,  I went on to youtube OMG what did we ever do before google and Youtube lol there were so many ideas and tutorials on how to make this and that my head was spinning, but at least I had a few ideas. Of course you know me I never go for the easy project I always throw myself in the deep end without thinking “can I actually pull this off????”
Anyway here are my projects the first one is a little taster a really easy peasy little thing I made after the main project was complete(because I printed off way to much paper lol) it’s simple bauble that you make by cutting out 8 circles (I die cut mine) fold circles in half the glue together adding some thread to the last section for a hanger and tah-dah….

For my main project (I was so excited when I had finished this as it turned out so much better than I was expecting) I have made a Christmas Tree yep you read correct a Christmas tree from paper

It is so easy to do (although very fiddly when gluing) all you need is a kitchen roll centre or of yours like mine wasn’t empty use 2 loo roll centres (I used 3, 2 end to end then cut a strip out of the last one to hold them in place) and your designer papers for mine I have mainly used papers from the Twiggy and Toots festive collection with a couple from work& play 5 holybobs.
Then you just make rosettes and attach to centre piece.

I finished off with a double rosette and added the wording joy and Noel which I punched out into circles and added to these.  I know the theme was blue and white but I want a pop of colour as the blue I used was very pale so I added a touch of grey and a little red just to make it stand out.
So there you have my Christmas Decorations for you I hope you like them please please join us remember for you guys it’s always Anything Goes now so you can make what ever you like

Christmas (w)rapping (Jacki Style)

Happy Choosday crafty peeps I hope you are all fine and dandy this week.
You know the drill now (haha) it’s Tuesday so that means another new challenge over at Digi Choosday, I have to say that hand on heart I have loved these last few challenges especially this one I really enjoyed making this (again something a little different for me)
As always for you guys the theme is anything goes but for us DC girls the theme is Christmas Wrapping (Did I hear Christmas!!!!!!!!! )Aarrrgggghhhhh run for the hills it’s way too early. Oh I guess I will have to bite the bullet lol and start sooner or later hehehe
So Christmas wrapping I could have made an envelope or something I guess, but to be honest I did struggle a little with this one. Then I had an idea, I have seen loads of these made over the years and think I have only ever made one before (Nikky and the girls are really getting my creative juices going lol) So a cross over card made into a wrap perfect

I had a verse that was called Christmas wish list and when I saw the image from Twiggy and Toots I knew I had to put the two together then it was onto the wrap and here it is
It’s made to finish as an 8x8”(ish) card  the  papers and image are  mainly from http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/twiggy-toots-festive-fun-downloadable-digital-cd-crafting-collection/
I printed off the papers and verse for the inside matted onto white card a little smaller than the main size I also used one of the pre coloured images in the bottom corner. I die cut 2 strips using spellbinder edgabilty does to make the handles at the top and added some red and green ribbon(as that is the colour theme) inking the the edges of the handles in red DI.
The outer cross wrap is made from 2 A4 pieces of card attached to an 8x8” cut to size then cut the tops off diagonally  I matted and layered the papers making sure all sides were covered (back included) then went over with some tinsel snowflake embossing powder and then splattered diluted acrylic paint over the papers.

After gluing everything in place I added the topper to the front and a sentiment to finish off and there you have my take on Christmas wrapping (although I do have the song Christmas wrapping *rapping* going on a loop in my head hahaha)
Hope you like it and I will see you again very soon

Ribbon and Lace

Hello my crafty friends,  I hope you’re all well and this post finds you fine and dandy.
We have another Anything Goes for you guys this week over at Digi Choosday (I really can’t believe how fast these weeks are going I’m sure they have become shorter lol)
For us DT girls the theme is Ribbon and Lace so a chance to get all girly yayyyyy
I went full out on girlyness (if that is a word) and  went totally OTT as I tend to do sometimes
My card is 8x8”,  I didn’t have any 8” card blanks so had to make mine using 2 A4 sheets of card.  As there is always a seam when you do this I usually join the 2 pieces so the seam is inside the card (you can then hide it with the insert) but this time I decided to make the bottom layer of DP longer a wrap it around the back of the card. This can give it a lovely finish and hides the join perfectly also.
My papers and image all from the http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/winnie-fruit-punch-big-bundle-printable-digital-craft-stamp-download-digiscrap/  collection I  love this collection the images are so sweet and perfect for most occasions .

I have printed the papers onto matt photo paper then distressed and inked the edges then I added frontage and diluted acrylic paint splats (making a mess yayyyyyy). I then matted these onto white card as well as added lace around the edges of one of the layers.

Before adding the layers onto my main DP I added some ribbon 2 in organza a wide gold and thinner cream piece,  then a strip of cream with pink stitching. With this in place I added this to my main paper on my card.
For the image I used one of the pre-coloured images which I also printed out onto matt photo paper  I printed out 2 copies so I could use one as a mask so I could create my background using distress inks. Then I distressed the edges as I did with papers and inked.
I printed off the sentiment, this isn’t from the collection but I thought it was so fitting for the image. I then coloured using distress ink and added lace to the edges. To finish off the outside I added a fussy bow in the wide ribbon I used across the card.
For my insert, again my usual style using paper from the front matting with a white faded piece then adding the image and a simple greeting.

And  voila, there you have it. Hope you like it.

Autumn colours at Digi choosday

Hello my lovelies how are you today I hope this post finds you fine and dandy.
Well the kids are mostly back at school now and that usually mean the end of summer is drawing near )O:  I do love summer and wish it could last all year round that would be perfect  maybe have snow on Christmas day  but then back to glorious sunshine. haha
So with that in mind  us girls over at Digi Choosday  have the theme Autumn colours for our challenge this week don’t forget for you peeps it’s Anything goes  now so no excuses not to join us.
I know a lot of people love this time of year with all the colour changes and tone from yellows through golds and brown and that is what I have tried to capture in my card.

I have changed the colour of the butterfly paper slightly in my graphic programme to warm it up a little then distressed the edges of all papers and inked with various brown distress inks
The sentiment is also from the same collection I just printed and punched out the distressed to match papers.
The image has been coloured with my Pablo pencils I am really enjoying working with these they’re so creamy and great to blend together .
I added a little glitter to the flowers in the image the cut out and distressed and inked using a mask and DI.
To finish the outside of my card I added a bright orange button and some hemp fibres tied in a bow.
For the inside  I made  a simple insert using paper from the front and bringing the uncoloured image through, I decided to leave the other side blank for a change.
And there you have it. Hope you like it.
