Never stop chasing Rainbows

Hello my lovelies I do hope this post finds you well. Today is my turn to share my Mo Manning inspiration with you again today(yes it's been 2 weeks already!
So yesterday (well today really as for when I'm typing this) was my Mother in Laws birthday. I had to make her 2 cards and as Mo's images are always my go-to images then I thought I would use them for my inspiration makes lol.
The card is 8x8" and the papers are freebies from Pixel Scrapper if you haven't been to the site before what are you waiting for there are loads of freebies and the designs are beautiful.

The image is called Fall and I have coloured him in with polychromo pencils. I distressed the edges and inked with distress inks. then made the embellishments (not the flower though) the leaves were die cut, shaped and coloured with various inks. Then died and added to the card the sunflower I think I got from the range in a pack.

So there you have my card for today. I hope you like it and I'll see you very soon.

New Baby for a new Year

Hello and Happy new year to you all Sorry for my absence over the Christmas festivities have got loads to share with you but was off my feet with a spell of vertigo again grrrrrr
Anyway enough about that I am thrilled to be back sharing another card for Mo Manning (links below please join us)
For my card I have an 8x8” card blank and my theme is new baby as my MiL has asked me to make one for a friend’s daughter who is due any day now. I think Mo does the most adorable baby images and this is my first time using this image (baby girl on a blankie again link below)

The papers I used are from Pixel Scrapper these are my 2nd go to place after polkadoodles for papers you get 8 free and there are hundreds to choose from.
I have distressed them but not inked the edges then added some corrugated card which I painted with starlight paints hot pink and dusty rose. Then I embossed with Wow embossing powder.

As I said the image is by Mo Manning and I have coloured her with a mix of Pablo and polychromo pencils. The inked the edges with spun sugar distress ink I also added this to the edges of the sentiment.

To embellish the card I die cut some flowers they are meant to be chrysanthemums but I decided to leave them flat and added a flat backed gem to the centre. I also added a fussy bow with a pink glass dummy added to the centre.

To finish the card I made the insert in my usual style adding the black and white image to the insert and verse on other side.
I do hope you like it and I will see you very soon with more makes.

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas......

OK, so I’m back today as a guest DT member for we love 2 create who are a mixed media challenge blog. They used to be sponsored by Pans Pastels but now the sponsorship has been taken over by our very own  Nikky Hall of Polkadoodles. Now not long ago they had a DT call and I was so so so tempted to apply but my nerve got the better of me and I bottled it,  so When Claire asked if any of us PD DT members would like to be Guest DT  for a challenge I jumped at the chance yayyyyyyy more mixed media(I’m loving it at the moment and really want to do a lot more.

As my week is coming up to Christmas I decided to make a Christmas canvas.

I started with a blank 8x10” canvas and coated with gesso then added a sheet of Christmas paper from one of the many collections over at #polkadoodles I tore the edges of the paper so it would blend better when painted and there would be any harsh lines.

Then I  added so texture using some star and snowflake stencils I added some dotty texture as well. Then I added some circles by cutting lengths off the centre piece from some tin foil (you know the cardboard middle bit) I dipped that into the texture paste (homemade) and added it here and there to the canvas.
I then went all over with a thin coat of gesso to tone everything down I then started to add ink and paint to the canvas (distress stain and oxide inks and starlight acrylic paints). When I was happy(ish) with the inking I decided to move onto my tree (knowing I could go back in and add more colour if I wanted to once it was all in place) So taking sheets from different Christmas collections I printed them off then cout them into sections so I could roll them into straw like tubes.
This was the basic shape for my tree I just had to adjust the sizes of the straws to get smaller as they went up to the top. Once they were done I needed a base so I hand cut a pot shap from white card then using brown distress and oxide inks I went to town colouring it, once happy I shaped it and glued it to my canvas then added the straws to make the tree.

I wasn’t sure what to put at the top of the tree I did think about a star and something but then decided on a bronzey coloured bow and also thought I’d add one the pot as well.
I then went back in with my inks and paint to add some dimension to the tree and I also added some die cut snowflakes that I covered with frontage, I also added some to the canvas. I finished off with a sentiment from one of the papers I just cut out and embossed with clear powder then added splats of paint and ink.
So there you have my Christmas canvas I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it and I’ll see you soon.

Ragged Winne

I’m back again my Lovies with another card to share with you. This is another half Polkadoodles half Mo Manning creation with the same LO as my previous cards.(well why not I’m on a roll)
So the LO is very distressed the papers are Polkadooodles from the festive Christmas and Winnie White Christmas ( you can find the link to get to them below)

I made papers straws from the same papers to coordinate and die cut a poinsettia flower and coloured with brushos.

The sentiment was stamped then embossed to give a little extra sparkle it was another freebie stamp from a magazine

The image is called Ragged Winnie by Mo Manning (I adore these Ragged images) which I have coloured with prisma and Pablo pencils. Then I inked around the edges.

To finish off the card I added an insert, hope you like it and I will see you very soon with more makes

New release Heart on your sleeve January

Squeallllllll So Phil takes me to Doncaster yesterday to the Dame for the Stamp Magic fair. I spent a fortune, had a catch up with the lovely #Tracy Easson, then came home feeling very chuffed with myself about my new goodies but felling very worse for wear on the ear side of things. I’m really struggling again today in so much pain but hey ho I will go to these places x

So when I got home Nikky (#polkadoodlescraft) asked if any of us DT girls were sick of Christmas makes yet I said yes (even though I have hardly started to get any done) so she sent us some images and eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk I know I say it all the time but OMG they are the best. I do love images with big eyes that you can colour and bring to life they just make the image and January has the biggest soft eyes.
So to me she screamed out Mixed media so after a short gloat of my new stash I started to colour her in.

Then I got to work on the canvas giving a quick coat of gesso and crackle paste.
I added texture paste (homemade) to some of the new stencils I got from Tim Holtz and paperartsy  then added starlight paint distress stains and Brushos (never used before but LOVE them)

I used some scrabble letter tabs to spell the word heart distressed a little the added a painted mdf heart with some threads
I fussy cut the image out and added to the finished canvas
Hope you like it and I will see you soon with more January makes

Well Blimey the time flies around here it’s time for a brand new challenge this week at Polkadoodles and as per usual for you it’s anything goes but for us DT gals the theme is Halloween (BOO)
Now I don’t do Halloween cards I just can’t get into it the whole kids knocking on your door (Barr humbug!!!!!! I know I’m evil) so I decided to make it into a Halloween birthday card well people are born on the 31st October (Pretty special people to I might add well one in particular x)

So for this card I  made a black 8x8” card blank and have used The Winnie Wednesday Halloween collection she is Adorable the papers are fab too!!!!!! You also get some great sentiments to go with them all

I did use a Clip art bat and the spooky wording from my stash as embellies which I just embossed with some clear embossing powder and added to the card with some acetate.

I coloured the image with polychrome and prisma pencils and made the background for the image using black card stock and distress oxide inks (which is so much fun to do!!!) and there you have it.
Hope you like it and I will see you very soon with another PD make

Lighting the way for Christmas

Happy Friday crafty peeps I ope you are all well the weather has definitely started to turn colder now (Bbbbrrrrr) so with with that being said it’s time to start making those Christmas cards!!!!!! :0O  We all know that Christmas creeps p on us all to quickly and we are forever playing catch up to make sure we have all our cards made and ready (I know I do every year) I even remember the year before last still making them on Christmas eve!!!!!!
So we have a new challenge for you over at #Polkadoodles f as alway for you guys it’s anything goes but for us DT gals the theme is Christmas (well you never saw that coming did ya!!!)
We have had a massive response to the new Winnie Christmas release and it’s not surprising she is just adorable I do love Winnie. Now there is not just the download OH no!!!!! Nikky has gone all out with this collection there are paper packs with die cut Winnies and also for those that still love to have a CDrom rather than download she has brought this collection into the 21st century and brought it out on a USB (yes a USB) which comes in it’s own container for safe keeping or you upcycle it and get crafty with it.
Also for those that love physical stamps there is a gorgeous collection of Winnies on clear stamps and that is what I have used for my card today.
Yes you read correctly the queen of digi has been stamping lol I treated myself to the Tonic/ Tim Holtz stamping platform as I am Rubbish at stamping I can never get a good clean print which was I turned to digis but there are some projects that need a stamp and hey ho I wanted to give it a go.
So this was my first play with the stamp platform and the stamps and I’m well impressed with both (Woohoooo)

I  did my usual 8x8” card but I wanted to keep it pretty clean and simple and decided to do a trellis design down the edge (again something new for me) it’s so easy and such a great effect.

The papers I used were what come with the stamp set and is called holly jolly they’re 6x6” and I love them some of them are available in other collections but it’s still worth it.
I coloured Winnie Lighting the way with a mix of polychrome, Pablo and prisma pencils  and the sentiments are also cut out from one of the papers.

I just distressed the edges of everything and added some distress ink and hey presto it’s Christmas.
Hope you like it and I will see you very soon with another PD make

Winnie Shake it Off

Well Hello again I hope you had a great weekend I had a very productive day yesterday I have to say and am rather chuffed with myself because of it.
I have another card for you today for the Winnie White Christmas launch and I think is now my favourite of the cards I have made (now I have finally finished the full 7 boy I didn’t think I was going to do it)
So for this card I decided to do something I haven’t done in years and that is make a shaker card eeeekkkkk I had the idea in my head but wasn’t sure I could pull it off.

I used a stencil from sweet poppy and I did a few try’s before I was happy using distress inks including oxide but I wasn’t happy with any of them, then I had a brain wave (which is scary for me) and decided to use black card and picket fence distress ink and distress spray paint blending it over the stencil. Then I added some splatters of the spray paint and some diluted acrylic paint before adding my faux snow and glitter.

The frame I die cut about 6 times (Creative expression Dies)and glued together to give it some depth.
For the image I used the pre coloured Winnie buys a Tree which I fussy cut and added to front with 3D tape I also used one of the sentiments from the collection which I die cut out to match the frame.
So there you have my card for today I hope you like it and I’ll see you tomorrow with my final card

Winnie Day 4 OnEsie

And I’m back with my 4th card for this release, I have to say I don’t usually enjoy making Christmas cards this time of year it’s seems a chore and I’m not really in the Christmas spirit  then I get to the middle of December and  BANG!!! I have soooo many to mak. But not with this collection I’m loving making then and I hope it shows in the finished cards.

For this card I have kept with my usual 8x8” but this time made a card blank from Kraft card and used Kraft card as back for some of the papers.

I have added frontage to the edges of some of the papers and distressed with a mix of normal distress inks and oxides

Winnie-Rudie Onsie is an adorable image to colour with I did with a mix of pencils (polys Prisma Pablos ). I then used Oxide inks to create the background.I forgot to mention I added some google eyes to the onesie for a fun look.

I embellished the card using images from the embellishment section I decided on some stockings to hand at the side I printed 6 off in total so I could double them up to make the stronger and the top one I added clear embossing powder. I did the same with the greeting which is also from this collection and I added a touch of frontage to this also.

I finished the outside by adding a couple of bells tied with some gold thread.
Finally to complete the card I made the insert using the papers from the front and bringing Winnie through then adding another sentiment from the selection.
So I hope you like it and yes I will more Winnie for you tomorrow

Winnie White Christmas day 3

Well it’s day 3 of the new release over at Polkadoodles  Winnie is proving to be a big hit again and it’s no surprise she is adorable if you haven’t got yours yet you need to (link below)

Now this card OMG it very nearly didn’t happen. It came about Nikky sent me the download to start working in my card for this release then I was struck down with vertigo when I have a bad bout of this it wipes me off my feet completely so I really thought I wouldn’t be able to continue being part of the release. Anyway I had printed everything off and coloured the image just before the vertigo hit then last weekend I started to feel a lot better so I thought lets get stuck in (maybe I  jumped in a little too soon) as I couldn’t  concentrate I made so many mistakes even decapitating poor Winnie yes I sliced right through her head so I had to re colour the image then my printer started playing up and basically start from scratch  Oh Boy!!!!!!!
Anyhooo I did finally make the card although a little different to my original design.
So everything I have used is part of the kit except for the ribbon, glitter and gems. I distressed and inked the edges of the papers (which as I have said before are gorgeous)

I coloured the imaged with a mix of pencils (Prisma, Polychromo, Pablo, Luminance)
The embellishments are taken from the foliage section of the download and then I added clear embossing powder to the top layer and also added some frontage.

The flower I layered up to give it more dimension and also cut into some of the petals on the second layer adding a flat backed gem to the centre.

I finished the card off by making the insert using the same papers as on the front one of the coloured images and another off the sentiments and there you have my 3rd card.
I will see you again tomorrow with another make until have a great Friday and weekend
