Lilac & lovely

Happy Monday everyone I hope you’re all fine and dandy and had a great weekend and all you Mom’s out there had a fabulous Mother’s day. Did you get spoiled I did although I had mine a couple of days earlier. Well it’s a bright and sunny day here today but blimey is it chilly and they say we could have snow this week Eeeekkkk Nnnoooooooo we don’t want it thank you very much!!!

My card for you today is a commission I was asked to make for a family friend it’s one of her Granddaughters 1st Birthday, it’s hard to believe that nearly 12 months ago I was making a Christening card for her for the same baby.

Anyhoo here is the card I made for her it’s 8x8” and the papers are from Pixel Scrapper which I distressed and matted onto white card (also distressed)

The image is called Annie with lamb from Mo Manning and has been coloured using polychromo pencils. I then masked off the image and using stencil brushed applied DI to make the background, Distressed the edges and matted onto card.

Here is another pic of the image hopefully you can see the sparkle a bit more

Now for the embellishment those of you that follow me on FB will have seen the pics I posted when I made the wire and nail varnish flowers, I had seen someone showing them and wanted to have a go and thought they would look lovely on this card. So I had a play and was quite pleased with the outcome. I did use one of the flowers I made but as there was wire I wanted to make sure there were no sharp edges (I know that the little girl won’t really have the card but…)so I made a rosette flower from a wide organza ribbon and some narrow white lace then added the flower I made in the centre to hide the wire and I think it looks rather sweet I didn’t want to add to much so left it at that with the added personalised greeting.

You can see the flower a little better here.

The inside I did my usual LO bringing papers I used from the front and faux matted with a white layer I brought the image through and used it on both outer edges flipping the one so they faced each other then added a suitable 1 year birthday verse.

So there you have my card for you today I hope you like it and I will see you very soon with another make.

I love Mo's work, they always have such character. A beautiful little girl card, great colour combo. The wee lamb with the little girl is so appropriate for this time of year too, very cute.
