Genie in a bottle

Hi peeps I hope you’re all fine & dandy Happy Easter for those that celebrate it I hope you have a great weekend although the weather here is awful it has rained none stop all day today. All of us have the lurgy Phil started with it having a few sniffles last week then the start of this he had full blown “MAN FLU” (yawn) oh my life why do men have to be such big babies when it comes to ailments anyway he passed it on to me and now Amy is coming down with it oh joy!!

Anyway I have a card for you today again it is for a birthday that is in April I have decided to try and get ahead of the birthday makes not sure if I will actually succeed but I’ll do my best.

Anyways the card is 8x8” as per usual and the papers are from pixel scrapper which have been distressed and inked I did things a little different for this card thought I would have a change so instead of layering the image onto the papers I put the paper on top of the image I cut a circle in the last layer of DP’s distresses and inked to hide any untidy cutting as I didn’t have a round die large enough for the image so I had to hand cut it eeeekkkk thank you for the distressed look hahaha

The image is called little Gini from Mo Manning and I have coloured her with polychromo pencils then added liquid pearls to her hair and the bottle, I then used a mask of the image and filled in the background using distress inks and stencil brushes. Then once finished I added it behind the final layer of paper.

For the embellishments the flowers are the ones I made from coffee filter papers I also made a few butterflies as well so added these to the mix I also made a Genie bottle I can’t remember what where it originally came from may have bath salts or something in but I added glossy accent and alcohol inks to colour then added some Christmas wrapping tinsel inside to give a little smoky effect.

The sentiment came with the image so I decided to keep it for this card.

For the insert I used the same papers with a white matt bringing the image through this time I decided to have just the black & white one for the left hand side keeping it uncoloured then for the verse side I decided to have it faded out to add interest to the background.

So there you have my card for today I hope you like it and I will see you soon with more makes have a great Easter don’t eat too much chocolate!!!

Oh! so very beautiful, I admire your skill at cutting a circle! Gorgeous flowers etc and lovely colouring. Lovely inside as always.

Sorry to hear you've succumbed to the dreaded lurgy, we are still suffering a couple of weeks after having it, - not nice, hope you are feeling better soon.

I've had manflu too...in my case I wander round complaining that I feel like death (worse than any man!) I hope you had a good Easter and are feeling better. I love your card- the flowers are amazing and the embellishment layout is great. I'm going to have to scoot around your blog to see how you made the flowers. I love the bottle too. Thanks so much for joining in with the Creative Loops challenge at www.achelois.co. I'm just writing the inspiration post for April and the theme will be water.
