Happy Weekend crafty friends I hope you are all fine and dandy and have lots planned
For me it will be card making (did you expect anything else haha) I have an anniversary card to make as although I knew it was coming up I totally forgot about making the card (eeeekkkkk) so I best get cracking.
My card for you today is another cutie and again not an 8x8”
(I know I’m having
withdrawals too!!!!).
I have decided with this one to do an A5 tent I don’t do
many of these purely because of the fact they are a nightmare to take pics of
the insert and you end up having your fingers in the shot. )0:
The papers
are from pixel scrapper and I have again resisted the urge to
distress the edges I just inked them with hickory smoke and worn lipstick DI
the sketch I used for the LO is by Jules
(sketch 17)
The image is by Mo Manning it’s another of her new releases
called Lou and I have
coloured him with my polychrome pencils. I have to say I totally enjoyed
colouring this image in he is adorable (although I have done it as a girl card I think it can work as
either)
After colouring the image I cut out a mask and started to do
the background on the image. I do this by using distress inks in various
colours and stippling brushed. You do sometimes
feel that you have put way too much on but once you take the mask away you can
see that most of the time there is hardly anything there, it’s always best to
go lightly though building the colour up. It would be a shame to have spent all
that time colouring the image to ruin it by adding to much background (never done it
myself but I can imagine cough cough)
For the embellishments I did think about adding flowers or
something along those line but then I saw my big jar of buttons and thought why
not use some of those… so I did I also used embroidery thread for the bows in a
metallic and normal thread.I kept the sentiment to a minimal and just added ‘precious’
For the insert I again used the same papers for the front
and brought the GORGEOUS image through I decided to colour it in again for the
simple fact that I enjoyed colouring so much. The paper I use for my inserts is
a mat finish so it does allow some blending and layering of colour but not as
much as the paper/card used on the main
image so I went for a softer look but over all I’m happy with it. I also
thought about what to put on the insert as wording and decided to carry on the
sentence from front, making a short greeting. (are the memories that you're making every day)
So there you have my card today I hope you like it and I
will see you very soon
Have a crafty weekend and I will leave you with another look
at the image and a list of challenges I would like to enter it into

Happy Crafting

And I've enjoyed reading your process.
