Happy New Year peeps I hope you all had a really time over the festive holidays. Everything is back to normal now here (well as normal as can be here haha)The tree and cards came down on Saturday why does that make the place look so bare they’re only up for a couple of weeks but it seems empty oh well no doubt it will be coming around again very soon as the years seem to fly by nowadays (must be an age thing!!!!)
Anyways Before I get on with my card for today (and boy did I enjoy making this
little chappie) You may have noticed a drop in followers I know I did
just over the Christmas holidays although it has gone back up again thank you apparently
Google are doing some changes and if you don’t have a google + account you won’t
be able to follow blogs unless you do it through Bloglovin’ (which I can be found on)
or Networked blogs (again
I’m on there also)
Please, please if you can find a way to stay following me I
would be more than grateful it’s lovely to know that there are some people out
there that read my posts (Waffle)
So onto my card this is just because card yes I know it says
birthday but the reason I made it was.. just because I wanted to, and I can’t
remember the last time I actually made a card just because I wanted to and I am
so glad I did. I have had the image for a while now but not had the chance to
colour it so the end of last week and over the weekend I designed a card and
started to colour it and here is my finished piece
The card is 8x8” and the papers are from Pixel Scrapper (all freebies). I used an
old sketch for the LO and printed everything off the font is in the Harry
Potter style then I distressed and inked the papers in crushed olive and faded
jeans DI
The image is called how to be a wizard by Mo Manning and I have coloured
him in with my polychrome pencils.
I think the reason I have put off colouring it for so long
also is because there is a lot of open space to colour which scares me to death
using my pencils as the blending is something I’m still working on but fingers
crossed I have done the image justice (I’m happy with the outcome anyway) it ‘s amazing how much
there is still to learn though but I’m having a blast doing so.
I coloured the background using a very light grey spectrum
Noir pen but that was the only part that wasn’t coloured with poly’s
I die cut the border and also some glitter stars and added
these to the bottom
Inside to bring it all together I used papers from the front
and an image I have had for what seems like forever of a Harry Potter hat and I
just coloured that in and added a small sentiment on the other page.
So there you have my card I am now in the process of
colouring Mo’s wizard in (eeekkkkkk)it’s
a mammoth task for me but loving it anyway I will leave you with another look at
the super cute image and a list of challenges
See you very soon with another birthday card (this time for a special friend)
