Special birthday wishes

Hello peeps hope you’re all fine and dandy and have had a great a great week, can’t say we have here just cards, cards and more cards to open sort and make and still no Christmas cards!!!!!! (HELP!!!!!!!!!!) Oh well I guess some peeps will get shop brought ones again (did I say that out loud shhhhh) Anyways I won’t waffle on I know we are all extra busy, NEC next week yayyyyy can’t wait although I know my ears will take a battering and a good few days to recover but it’s only once a year and me and my dear MiL (Hello Carol) have a great day (she buys loads of beads and never uses them hahaha)

So my card today is rather a special one for a special lady my dear friend Sandra who has been a bit poorly lately (I made the get well card for her)well it’s her birthday the end of the month yes she’s a Halloween baby haha so I have made a special card for her.
Now again this one is totally different to my usual style I am trying to keep things clean and simple to make things easier for when I actually get to make my Chrimbo cards so I tried again to keep this one as C&S as I could. But also when Sandra makes cards she always used beautiful dies and makes the most beautiful die cut arrangements whether flowers or flourishes so I wanted to make something with that on for her too

So here it is my work of Art (haha) the card is of course 8 x 8” and I have used a simple square mat of backing paper of course I had to ink the edges (hate white edges)but note no distressing I am distressed enough at the mo lol.

Then I took 2 Mo Manning images and merged them together they are part of the ragged collection called ragged Angel (even though I clipped her wings she wasn’t ready to be an angel yet sorry Mo) and ragged Martha she is just adorable with all the little birds around her. They have both been coloured with my polychrome pencils I really enjoyed colouring these images in. I kept the colours very autumnal as this is Sandra’s favourite time of year I guess it would with her birthday and all.

I used a mask of the image, distress inks in blues and browns and stencil brushes to create the background of the image.

Then I die cut some flowers the dies were free from a magazine but the leaves I remember the lovely lady herself sent me the die as a gift anyway I printed out some red and green papers to cut the dies out of then also used some white papers  inked the edges with fired brick (same as for the edges). Then to finish the front I added some red flat backed pearls to the opposite corners and left it at that.

For the insert I did my usual of using the same paper I used on the front  and matting with a white layer then bringing the image through this time adding on to each corner flipping it to match. Then I found a very fitting verse and job done!!

Hope you like and I will see you very soon hopefully with some Chrimbo cards (but I very much doubt that haha)
