Fairy sparkle

Good morning my lovely peeps I hope you are all fine and dandy I know it has been a while but things have but things have been a little mad here at the house of cards with one thing and another Phil has had loads of new deliveries so we’ve had so much to open sort out and shipped off and I have been a busy with my stuff as well phew not enough hours in the day to fit it all in!!!! I think we can safely say our summer (yes I hear you all saying what summer I know I feel the same total disappointment )O: ) and the C word is creeping up on us very quickly yet again (eeeekkkkkk) I must start my Chrimbo cards real soon!!!
Anyhoo I do have a card for you today (well I guess you knew that otherwise it would be pointless me posting on here wouldn’t it haha) It’s a special card for a special little girl (well that’s what her Grandmother(hehe)told me so of course I had to pull out all the stops. Now I was asked to make this card a good few months ago so have had a good time to think about what I was going to make and after a few questions I had this card in my head and knoew how I wanted it to look. I was told she liked fairies and pinks and purples the only thing I was asked to do was if I was colouring an image could I colour the fairy with a darker colour tone. I have only ever attempted to do this twice before so was a tad nervous about it but I gave it my best so I hope it’s OK.

The card is of course my favourite 8x8” and the papers are from pixel scrapper they have been distressed and inked with DI’s and faux matted.

The image is called Teen fairy Pia by Mo Manning now I know it’s says teen fairy but from I have been told about the birthday girl she is a lot older that her 7 (8) years so that is why I went with her plus she is adorable. I coloured her with promarkers (sorry didn’t keep a record of colours used I’m so out of sync lately). I added micro beads to the centre of the flower in her hair and of course glitter to her wings.I forgot to mention I added liquid pearls to her skirt.

To embellish I had this idea to cascade some ribbon and tulle down one side and across the bottom of the card so didn’t want to add to many other elements elsewhere on the card. I wanted to keep it all on the ribbon apart from adding a large fussy bow to the opposite corner in a lilac organza ribbon.

For the cascade (I have no idea what else to call it so I’m sticking with that)I took a length of tulle in white  about 1½” wide and then a piece of sheer tulle in purple about the same width along with a length f shocking pink satin ribbon and sort of plated and twisted it then added purple sequins I glued this in place on the card then started decorating using punched butterflies in pinks and purples and flower stamens  and berries, then my favourite bit was the bottle of fairy dust (well I had to really didn’t I??). To make the fairy dust I had a bottle that used to have nail caviar in (I have loads of these bottles) I poured a small amount of glossy accent into the bottle and coloured with spun sugar re-inker and a sprinkle of iridescent glitter and left to dry I printed of a label of content(fairy dust)and attached to the outside then added some more iridescent glitter when the content was dry. Then I stuck it in place with 3D tape and a blob of glue. To finish the cascade I added a rose to each end to hide the knots which I also coloured with spun sugar re inker.

As always to finish the card I made the insert using papers from the front and bringing the image through to tie it all together and added a granddaughter birthday verse.

So there is my card for you today I hope you like it and I hope it’s not too long before I get to post again Phil is such a slave driver!!!!
I will leave you with a fancy pic of the card and a list of challenges I would like to enter it into.
