Wedding card with a difference

You know every once in a while someone asks me for a card that throws me, you know what I mean they ask for something different but not really sure what and they give you a few thoughts and leave you to it….. Well that is how this card came about and the person causing me the problem? My lovely Mother in Law, she has a work colleague who got married a couple of weeks ago in Canada where she is going to live (lucky beggar)but is coming back here for a party for her friends and family and Carol (my MiL) said to another work colleague she would ask me to make a card with a difference so she did (headache time…… lol) the only info I got from her was the couple were really into their super/ comic book hero’s and go to conventions and also she likes gothic/ fantasy, oh and that they didn’t want it to say on your wedding as they had already done that bit. To say I struggled at first is an understatement and I did at one point think I was going to have to say sorry I can’t do it but AH-HA good ol’ Jacki comes good in the end (as always) and this is what I came up with I did think about going down the gothic road but the trouble is how dark and gothic as not everyone is the same what may be OK for one may be too ‘dark’ for another so I went with the comic book theme and I’m quite pleased with outcome I just hope Carol and the ‘Mr & Mrs’ like it too

For the papers I made the main piece myself I got a Superman logo and Wonder Woman (used to love watching that as a kid lol (0:) logo and brought them together the in MCS tiled them to make the background then I added a blue backing the other piece with the stars and stripes is from pixel scrapper they have both been distressed and inked with barn door and salty ocean.

I got a pow sign (like they have on batman) but without words and added the greeting. And added some gold thread to mimic wonder woman’s rope the image I borrowed from the net and I decided to decoupage it, I haven’t done any for a while and as there are no embellishments on the card I thought it need that bit of umph

The inside was made using the stars & stripes paper and I just added another greeting and there you have it.

Now I’m going for a lie down my head still hurts …...

Hi Jacki. Oh WOW. You really are amazing my friend, and you always come up with something very unique and special. What an amazing creation, only you could come up with something so very creative. I am sure that the recipients will absolutely be over the moon with it. You are a wonderful talented lady.
Happy crafting.
