Sweet Sailor Boys

Hi folks, hope you’re all fine and dandy it looks like it’s going to be a nice day here today it’s quite warm and the sun is shining ( yayyyyy at last) although as it’s a BH weekend I don’t expect it to last )0:

So what are you all up to this last BH of the year , I know I say all the time but OMG this year has gone sooooooo fast, is it an age thing do you think? The older we get the faster the years go. Do you remember being at school (I know I can just about remember that haha)but the 6 weeks summer hols seemed to last forever. Now it only seems 5 mins since they broke up, thankfully Amy has long left school so I don’t have to thank about that now but still it is going by so fast.
Anyway I am sharing the other card I made the DT position I applied for (like I said I don’t expect to get picked at all but there is no harm trying is there)

I decided for this one to make my favourite size, yes the good ole 8x8”. Those who follow me regular may remember me making a similar card a while ago but I decided as I love one of the images soooo much, I would use it again and bring in a little buddy for him to play with so here it is.

The papers are from pixel scrapper they are great these sailor images and I have distressed (I know…) and inked with faded jeans, barn door and gather twigs DI then matted onto white card.

The images are from the sailor boy set from Mo Manning I love the one with the bear he is just adorable but I decided to merge him with one of the others for this card then I coloured them both in with my polychrome pencils and for the background I again made a mask for the images and used distress inks with stipple brushes to colour.

To embellish the card I used digital elements that I printed out, the boat and the card candy which I used a ball tool and shaped then covered these and the boat in acrylic glaze to give a shine and to make a little more sturdy.

The sentiment was printed into a digital frame which I the cut out and inked the edges before adding with 3d tape.

For the insert I separated the boys and used one for each page fading them into the background and adding the Happy Birthday and the short verse these were put onto the same papers I used on the front but also using a white digital mat layer.

And so there you have it all done and sent off with the other one. I hope you like it and I will see you very soon as I h ave a few birthday cards I need to make.

I wish you well with your challenges, and most importantly, I hope you get asked to be on their DT, you are just pure quality.
Happy crafting my friend.
