Take me out to the ball game

 Buy me some peanuts and........
Oh hello my lovelies I now have this song in my head sorry, I hope you are well and ready for the weekend, the weather is gorgeous here today let’s hope it’s here to stay.

So yes I have a card for you today it’s one I have made for Phil as it’s his birthday next week, I was so fed up with doing football cards (which is why I did the kite one too)so I decided to make one using another of his sporting likes, Baseball now don’t get me wrong he’s not a mad baseball fan but does like the Giants and when I saw this image I thought that is what I will do.

The card is 8½”sq  and the papers are from nitwits which I have distressed and inked with rusty hinge, ripe persimmon, walnut stain then matted onto black card.

The image is a Mo Manning image called JohnnyBaseball isn’t he adorable? I coloured him with polychromo pencils it was quite a task being a novice trying to get the colour of the kit just so I think I have done rather well though (if I do say so myself lol) when he was coloured I created a mask using an image I’d  cocked up (waste not want not as they say) and created the background using some of the inks I used on the papers with antique linen and pumice stone thrown in as well.

I took one of the club badges and resized printed off then punched out and covered with acrylic glaze to give it a shine and to add a little stability before sticking it to my card. I also added some thread that I brought I thiknk it was from a pound shop for a big(ish) bag and wrapped it around the papers cutting a small slit down the seam of the main piece (as it wraps around the back of the card)
The sentiment was created on my PC using MCS (as always I cannot use any other programme I wish I could but I can’t get my head around them, bummer)I cut out distressed and inked then matted this to black card also.

It’s a pretty clean and simple card as in there aren’t many if any embellishments  but I didn’t want to much going on as I love the image.

For the insert as always I used the same papers as on the front and brought the image through this time I used the SF logo and added it to his jersey top just so it carries the theme through.

I got a lovely verse that seemed to fit what I wanted to say my hubby is also my best friend (I know we all say that) but he really is. He has been with me through so much and I know that my illness has knocked the stuffing out of him in so many ways but he’s always there and I love him dearly it’s hard to believe we have been together 28 years and married 18 (another card I need to make quickly as that is next week too!!!!!!)

And so there it is my hubsters birthday card I hope you like it and I will leave you with another look at the ubber cute image and a list of challenges.

Have a fantastic weekend and I will see you very soon xx
