You bug me!

Hi folks I’m back again with another instalment of my latest makes (Oh it’s so good to be able to make cards again, with not being on any DT’s it’s hard to get creative just for the fun of it)This one is for my Nan in Law she is 88 this year and is such a lovely lady in every sense of the word so loving and just adorable (I love her to bits) As you know with family cards I always have to make 3 or 4 for the birthday person as everyone wants one made (boy does that frazzle the brain and there ain’t much of one there anyway hahaha)coming up with different ideas for each card is hard work. So with my thinking cap pulled firmly over my lugs cogs whirring and steam coming out my nostrils (OK slight exaggeration there)but you get the picture I start creating, now I don’t know about you but I always start my cards with my image, Everything is done digitally so I choose my digi image then start looking through my sketches for a LO. Then I will start looking at colour it’s usually a certain paper that will catch my eye and I will roll with that or sometimes I like the design of the paper but no so much the colour so will change it until I’m happy then take it from there.

Now for this card I went for pink (come on you know I loooove my pink) and of course I had to use a Mo Manning image I had treated myself to the gorgeous fairy babies set a while back and needed an excuse to colour one or 2 of them.

You may notice that this card is not my usual (of late) 8x8” card but instead I decided to go for a 6½ x 7½” card I used to make this size quite a lot a while back it’s a really sweet size but you have to be careful not to over load with embellishments(something you know I love to do).

Anyway the papers are freebies from Pixel scrapper and have been distressed and inked with picked raspberry, spun sugar and worn lipstick and then matted onto white card that has also been distressed.

The image is Baby Fairies ‘bug’ and you can get it here isn’t she (or he if you want)adorable I had so much fun colouring this image with my polychrome pencils.
Once I was happy with the colouring I cut the image out using a spellbinders label die then inked with worn lipstick.

I made the sentiment on my computer distressed and inked to match then started on the embellishment I knew what I wanted to do for the card but wasn’t sure it be to much for the card (?) anyway I went with it and decided to see how it turned out now for a full tutorial on these kind of embellishments head over to this ladies channel as this is where I got my inspiration from.

For mine I used tulle, muslin & lace then made the centre piece with pearls and glass beads then when I put it on the card I added some decorative pins. Due to the size of the card the size of the embellishment I didn’t feel it needed anything else so moved on to the insert.

Of course the insert was made at the same time as I designed the card as everything is done together. I took a sheet (digital) of one of the papers I had used for the front and made this my main piece then took a white colour mat and brought that in so I could bring the image through and also put the verse on (This is for the lady that when I make cards for her she has to have a nice verse regulars should remember me saying this on many occasions)
I decided to flip the image so she was looking the other way and left her uncoloured (don’t know if I prefer them left uncoloured or with a bit of colour added I take a card at a time and whatever takes my fancy lol)and found a (fingers crossed) suitable verse, and there you have it.
I still a few to make I have this nagging thought in my head that I have totally over looked a card I have to make but no doubt I will remember at some point
Thank you for popping over and taking the time to read hope you like my little makes and I will see you soon xx
