Potters shed

Hello, shock! Horror! Yes I’m back and so quickly too hahaha I’m keeping you on your toes and I am soooooooooo happy with the card I have to show that I couldn’t wait to get it on here for you all to see I hope you like it as much as I do. It’s a Father’s day card as that is coming up in a few weeks here in the UK (why do we have it at different time around the world?)just a though sorry.

I don’t get make my dad a card he has never seen any of my creations as he died long before I started card making which is a shame as I see images and quite often think that would have been great for Dad but I get to make them for my Daddy in Law(hahah) and my Grandad in Law, who is soooo like my dad which is why I have a massive soft spot for him in my heart but don’t tell him(he won’t hear you anyway he’s deafer than me lol bless him). So when I saw these images over at Mo Mannings I knew what I wanted to do with them and that they would perfect for Granddad in Law.
The story with Bob is no one none of his grand kids and even Amy (great Grandchild) are allowed to call him Grandad it just Bob I honestly don’t know how he would react if any of us called him Grandad we would probably get the stern Bob look he does so well and he loves his garden,  he’s always finding something to do in it and for someone who is nearly 90 you have to admire him for it.

So my card is an 8x8” card and the papers are freebies from pixel scrapper which have been distressed and inked with various brown DI then matted onto white card which has also been distressed.

The images are from Mo Manning like I said yes there are 2 separate images and I merged them together the potting shed and gardening guy can be found here
I have coloured the merged image with polychrome pencils then masked them both off and with stencil brushes and distress ink made the background. I then cut it out and distressed and inked to match papers and mounted again onto white card.

The sentiment was computer generated and done in the same way.
Now for this card I have had the image coloured and the papers printed for a couple of weeks now but haven’t had chance to put it together so all the while I’ve been looking at it I have been think embellishments what to do. I had a feeling I had some gardening charms somewhere in my embellish box and yep I did indeed but what else, flowers would make the card to girly. So yesterday while putting it together low and behold the cogs started whirring and the light bulb went on (don’t panic it’s gone off now and I have had a good night sleep to recover so no lasting damage)

I found an image of a plant pot the terracotta type and did a few in different sizes printed them off cut then out inked edges and then covered with glossy accent left to dry while I put the card together then I got the flower soft out added shades of green to the rim of the pots and was thinking about how to add some sort of flowers but still not being girly. I thought of using craft wire dipped in flower soft then ping! Cocktail sticks so I coloured a few in with a green marker and covered with glue then dipped in flower soft and cut to fit the pots.
I added the charm to the other side of the pots and left it at that as I didn’t want to overdo it

The insert was made using papers from the front and also bringing the image through to tie it all together. I decided to slightly colour the image just giving it a quick wash of colour not being too fussy and added the verse
I hope you like my Father’s day card for today I have a couple more to make so stay tuned and I will see you soon .

Take care

Jacki, this is STUNNING. You have such a wonderful, creative, and talented mind. Fantastic colouring of your images, such brilliant co-ordinated papers and a fab design.
The detail is just perfect and I just love how you have made those plant pots and foliage.

A fun card with lots of great elements and thanks for sharing at AAA Cards and ATSM. The AAA Cards challenge is a CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge however so I would say your card has too many layers and not enough 'white space' for this challenge. I do hope you'll play again though. Many thanks Sarah
