Hi Everyone! Yes can
you believe it I’m back with another card this one I have been dying to show but
haven’t because I wanted the person who ordered it to see it first IRL.
I do love making these cards there is so much detail on them
and you can add as much as you like really, it’s a wedding card for a family
friend who’s daughter is getting married in a few weeks time. She was really
easy going with what she wanted and left me to it all I asked for was the
colour theme they were having at the wedding (I thought I would use this rather than the more traditional)
and then I was left to my own devises.
So what did I come up with ??......
The card is 8½ x 8½ and 410gsm so a really sturdy base for
all the embellishments
The papers are from Crafts U print and I just changed them to
suit the colour theme of blue & white (they’re Baggies fans yayyyyyy) I then distressed the
edges and inked with chipped sapphire DI, then edges with crystal stickles.
The image is from Mo Manning I got this one because I have
had to do a couple of wedding cards so didn’t want to use the same image for
all of them and this is really fun image. I coloured it in with prisma pencils
then cut a mask out of the image and stencilled the background in. Finally I
distressed the edges and inked with chipped sapphire.
The sentiments were created in MCS as all my cards are. Then
it was on to the embellies oh what fun!!!!!!
The flower centre piece I really love making these and they
are so easy (though a little fiddly) I didn’t have any blue teardrop beads so
out can my trusted pro markers and it worked just a treat. To make it I took a
length of tulle about ½” wide (you
can trim it afterwards) and about 12” long did a really quick running
stitch along the length and gathered it then sew in place and also sew the two
raw edges together (trust
me you won’t see them) set this aside. I punch a 1” circle from card and
add a large pearl to the centre you can use either a glue gun or wet glue for
this I prefer using wet glue as it gives you more play time to get them into
the right position the down side is you have to really careful when you move
them and put them somewhere safe to dry thoroughly. With my centre pearl in
place I then start adding the teardrop beads these have been put onto pins and
have also had a small pearl added to the top, I cut the bottom of the pin so I
just have a short length left to pop behind the centre pearl (for this size I have used about
12 teardrops) when they were in place I added some more pearls just
around the centre then left to dry over night.
While this was drying I moved on to the rest of
embellishments the punched butterflies, corners and hearts where all embossed
and frantaged and beads added as where the bird cages. The studs at either side
of the image are actually carpet nails and are like copper colour and very
sturdy before I cut the sharp end off I grab a pair long handle tweezers and
heat the ball end of the stud with my heat gun just for a minute or so then dip
it directly into the frantage which melts on impact then leave to cool before
taking the ends off.
The gorgeous lace that was used with pearls is perfect for
this sort of cards I got it from Dunhelms and it ties in lovely with the string
pearls used on the tag sentiment.
By now the pearl centre piece is dry so I added it to my
tulle ruffle trimmed to fit and glued in place making sure it’s not going
anywhere lol
Once the front was complete it was time to put the insert in
I made this using the same papers as I used on the front and also brought the
image through using it in each bottom corner. I then added the verse to both
sides distressed and glittered to match the outside and job done.
So I hope you like it I will leave you with another look at
the image and a list of challenges I would like to enter it into
