Father's Day for In Law

Hello again well I said I wouldn’t be a stranger and would be back for a while (at least while the birthdays are coming in) Saying that today’s card isn’t a birthday card aha what is it then well you will have to wait and see.

Well what can I can it’s Bank Holiday Sunday and here in the midlands it’s yes the usual BH weather wet and cold eeeeegggggggghhhhhh, but I’m not going to let that spoil my last footie weekend of the season oh no Phil is on his way to Arsenal as we speak for the last Baggies match (come on you baggies) so this will be the last time I get the house to myself for a good couple of months before the new season starts(can’t wait).
Then it will be there’s nothing on telly!!! Every 5 mins men!!!!!!!!! So today I’m crafting my heart away again I have a really good day yesterday both health wise an crafting wise my ears behaved themselves so I could concentrate on more than one card which was good considering the injections are wearing off now and I them redone..
Anyway enough about me onto my card well it’s a Birthday card for my Daddy in Law it’s his birthday in a couple of weeks so of course I have to make most of the family cards but I know most of you will have to do that too so will understand how hard it is trying to come up totally different cards, there’s nothing worse I think from a crafters point than when you go to someone’s house and see the cards you have made and they are nearly all the same so here is the first of 3 possibly 4 instalments.

Don't worry there are only a couple of photos it's quite a CAS card for me

The card is A5 in size (I know small for me)for this one I have kept the Blue theme for the Baggies (hahaha) with the papers which are all freebies from Pixelscrapper which have been distressed and inked with chipped sapphire faded jeans and broken china

The image as called King for a day by Mo Manning now to actually look like my dad in Law this guy needs a tash, glasses and balding head (a bit like Jack from Jack and Ginger) but he’ll get the message.

For the image I added the saying underneath (just like any other day) it’s a bit of a standing joke as he is retired so has all day to do as he pleases then I coloured him in with polychrome pencils I tried to get the colour of the chair as close to the suite they have at home as it’s like a reddish brown but I think I needed more brown but not to worry other than that I’m really happy with the end result especially his skin, I tried some different colours that someone suggested to use when colouring portraits and so on so I thought what’s to lose these images are like mini portraits in a way and loved how he came out. I would never have thought of using a magenta for a skin tone but then that’s why I’m just learning.

I made the sentiment on my PC and distressed this and inked with either broken china or tumbled glass I can’t remember then I added 2 mid size buttons with cross stitch thread bows at the back

Then I made the insert using some of the papers from the front then matting with a white paper (all digital) then added the verse and also brought the image through leaving it uncoloured.
And that is it I hope you like it thank you to every for the lovely comments   Ohh and a big BIG HELLO to my newest followers it’s great to have you here
As always I will leave you leave you with a list of challenges I would like to enter this card into and another look at the image and I will see you again very soon  xx
