My 1st Christmas card for 2014

Well hello and I hope you are having a grand weekend. Sorry for lack of posts but have been doing other things but I do have a card for you today. My first Christmas card of the yearI saw the image last time I was shopping at this etsy shop and new I would ge her at some stage so last week I brought her hehehe.
Now my mojo is playing silly beggars with at the moment and is only here on fleeting visits so it took me a while to design  it and Christmas cards always wear me out for some strange reason instead of keeping them simple I try to put as much into them as I do with other cards but when have quite a few to make that then takes forever (Oh well)
Anyhoo for my card I decided I didn't want to use any christmas papers (I know shock horror how can it be a Christmas card with out Christmas papers)
Here it is

It's another 8 x8" card and the papers are from CraftsUprint and Nothing but freebies I distressed them and inked with festive berries DI then matted onto white distressed card which I went around the edges of with a metallic gold pen
This is the sketch I followed for LO it's the same talented lady that did then image and you can find her here
the image is called pretty winter friends and has been coloured with a mix of pro markers and Créa markers (which I am still getting the hang of)

Red sweater, chilli red, red rooster,
Burgundy, ruby, crimson (clothes)
Light fawn, blush, satin, soft peach (skin)
Warm  grey 1-6 (Créa pens)
 Créa pens 94, 91, 98, 103 (hair)
Then for rabbit and birdie 96, 102, 15, 32,
26, 29, 104

I then glittered all the furry bits of her clothes using an iridescence glitter

The snow flakes are made from dies that were free with magazines I cut them out of thin cardboard then glittered and added a pearl once dry
I made the double fussy bow from dark gold organza ribbon and a bright red satin ribbon all from my stash oh and I also added lace to one of the papers. (nearly forgot about that) To the bow I added a tiny tag I made with 'Merry & Bright' on just for a little something else as I had put the sentiment on the image.
Then to finish off the card I added the insert

using  matching papers from the card I used a digital punch to punch the centre out in a similar style to one of the papers on card, and then I brought the image in to the left hand page with a small sentiment then on the other page a short verse.
So there you have it I think I can say that not using Christmas papers worked well for this card, now I just have another 20 or more to do hahaha
Right I will leave you with another view of the adorable image and a list of challenges I would like to enter it into

Hi Jacki. Oh my goodness, what a BEAUTY. Love your colouring, and all the gorgeous layering and detail. The snowflakes are just the most perfect embellishment for this creation and the bow finishes it off perfectly. You are just super-talented my friend, truly you are.
Enjoy the rest of your afternoon.
