Hello everyone, I’m back today to share a first for me, so
please be kind lol I have never done this before, A while ago I thought about
getting into journaling mainly to help with my depression. I haven’t done much
just one piece so far, it’s a little out of my comfort zone as it’s new to me.
Also the journal I brought originally was an A4 size which I found very
daunting to fill a page. So the other day I found anA5 one and brought it it
was a plain black covered one but I thought that could be my first project on
there to alter and decorate the cover, so that is what I’m sharing with you
today.
The design is inspired by Nadya Drozdova
she
did a youtube tutorial on one a few days ago and I thought I like that so I
took some of the details and used it as my platform.
I’m not going to run through how it was made
I really can’t remember it was just going through my stash finding stuff I
wanted to add to it or making the stuff I hadn’t got that I wanted to add like
the paint brushes. They are made using plastic coffee stirrers as a base I then
drew around one onto thick 300gsm card stock for the shape then cut out glued
to the stirring stick then coloured with distress inks and added the bristles
by drawing them on with a couple of brown pencils I then added some craft wire
for the metal part that holds the bristles in place. I wasn’t too bothered that
they looked animated after all this is a freestyle journal that will have
anything inside it.
Oh and yes the bottle have actual paint and
glitter in (so hope they don’t break
lol)
Over all as my fist I am really pleased with
it. Hope you like it.

Lovely work. Thank you for joining the challenge at More Mixed Media. Hope to see you again next time.
Keep going with your journal. Find inspiration sentiments to add to your work and it will help you to look back on them when you are having a bad day. I found it hard to start but I have now finished journals for two of my grand daughters and have started another one. (I have 4 grand daughters who all suffer with anxiety) My second grand daughter is on medication for depression. I added encouraging sentiments to each page.
How beautiful! I love pink. Thank you for playing along with us at Mixed Media Place!
