Traditional Christmas

Hello again Doodle fans Happy Christmas to you all are you all ready for it I hope so. I guess we will be leaving a little late if not though oh well.
Anyway over at polkadoodles we have another challenge going on and this is an inspiration post for you the theme for us DT girls for this challenge was a traditional Christmas and I really enjoyed putting this card together. Although there was no actual colouring done from myself I still got very messy and crafty with fussy cutting, die cutting, embossing, inking and glittering.
I decided to do something very different for me and didn’t really have an image for my focal point it was mainly the theme
The card is a small one 5½” square and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

The papers are from (insert is from this collection also)
and I decided to go for a very shabby look and instead of cutting and distressing I tore the papers by hand then inked the edges. I kept the middle piece free from tape as I wanted to add the tag behind this.

To make the wreath I took  2 of the wreath images from the download collection  fussy cut out then the one I used to the top layer I embossed a cou-ple of times with clear powder. Then I took a length of cord and made a free style circle using my fingers the same size as the wreath then added hessian cord Christmas tinsel fibres and cheesecloth then added the paper wreath to the top.

I embossed the reindeer, snowman and heart in the same way as the wreath then for the tag which is from  http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/winnie-winterland-big-kahuna-digital-craft-download-bundle/ I embossed with clear powder about 3 or 4 times then popped it straight into the freezer for about 10-15 mins if you haven’t tried this it’s great for getting a vintage look as when you take the embossed image out the cold from the freezer cracks the embossing and then you just add distress ink to the cracks to give a great aged effect.  To finish the tag I added some ribbon and lace through the hole just to look pretty.

The flowers I made from a paper also from the Winnie in Winterland collection.
To finish off the front of the card I added snow tex and glitter randomly to the whole card then splattered with diluted paint.
I decided to keep the insert blank as there is quite a lot going on the outside of the card so didn’t want to overdo it.

So there you have my Traditional Christmas card. Don’t forget for you guys the theme is always ANYTHING GOES so come on and join us we’d love to see you.
Again I would like to take this time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, thank you for being so kind and encouraging and taking the time to comment on my makes. It’s always nice to see you and read your comments
