Happy Friday guys I hope you are all fine and dandy and looking forward to the weekend you should be we are having a beach party over at polkadoodles with the new release called Winnie starfish and sand castles. I have only been a member of the polkadoodles DT for a couple of weeks and still finding my feet so was over the moon when Nikky asked if I would be up for taking part in the launch (how could I refuse getting to play with brand new goodies yayyyy) and OML they are gorgeous.
For those of you that have seen the Winnie in Wonderland collection you will know how adorable this little character is well now she has a boyfriend and they are making waves with everyone over at PD HQ
So if you want to see what is going on head over to Polkadoodles facebook group and join in the beach party and you can also 10% off the full VIP XXL download but you have to get the code from the facebook group
Anyway you will be seeing 6 yes 6 makes from me over the next few days Ihave worked my little butt of to get these done as it has been a mad week what with Amy wanting her bedroom decorated Scruff getting conjunctivitis then me getting a cut in my thum infected and it became very swollen and yukky. But I soldiered on and totally enjoyed myself
My first card is my usual 8x8” and I wanted to show that even though the theme is about the beach you can still make a normal card with it I have used papers from the collection which have been distressed then inked with cracked pistachio and abandoned coral DI
For the image I used Winnie walking the dog which I have coloured with a mix of polychromo and luminance pencils then I used a mask of the image and did the background using blue and brown DI’s. I also added one of the sentiments that come with the collection to the image before printing off.
As I made the image pretty big (that’s the great thing about Polkadoodle images they don’t distort if you change the size) I kept the embellishments to a minimum just added flat backed gems and a fussy handmade bow which I also coloured with abandoned coral DI.
I haven’t done an insert for the card yet as it was need so soon but it will be done in my usual style.
So there you have my first card using this gorgeous new collection and I will see you again very soon with another
