Hello peeps I hope you’re all fine and dandy I have been busy crafting and doing something I totally love doing other than making cards and that is making embellishments for my cards (happy bunny).
It meant I made lot of mess with
embossing powders and glitter (you know how I love to sparkle hahaha)
So the card I have for you today is
one of those that I was asked to make for
my Mom in law, it’s for some friends that are celebrating their 25th
wedding anniversary very soon so I knew silver would be playing a major part I
just needed to have an accent colour….
The papers were freebies I have had them for a while so not sure where
they came from but originally they were a very deep copper colour (I have used these a few times on
wedding cards) so I changed the colour to silver in doing so there was a
tint of red still showing through when I got to the colour I wanted so bingo
that was my accent colour sorted.
I decided on the clean and simple(ish)
design that I used over the Christmas period distressing the edges of the paper
and inking with hickory smoke DI.
The image is of course from Mo Manning and is called Kitchen Dance Now I don’t know
the couple personally but from what I have been told they like to have fun and
the couple in this image certainly look like they are having a ball so that is
why I chose it. I added a short verse/ sentiment to the front with the image
rather than just happy anniversary then printed off. I have coloured it with polychromo pencils
then distressed the edges and inked with fired brick DI.
For the embellishments now this is
where the fun started I made the flowers using Britania flower dies in large and medium you need 8 of
each to make 1 flower but they are so easy to do( thanks to Gwen for showing me). I die cut the corner and the
flourish and embossed with silver, Tinsel snowflake (I know but it’s gorgeous) and shabby white frontage (I told you it got sparkly here)
I also made the numbers using
digital elements I don’t have any number dies so have to do it the hard way
not that I mind it’s fun making your own, these have again been embossed with
the same as the corner and flourish.
Then it was onto the insert as per
I used the same paper made a faux mat to put the wording on and brought the
image through adding to each outer lower corner, then I found a fitting verse
and Tah-dah!!!!! Job done (I
hope)
I will leave you with another look
at the image and a list of challenges I would like to enter it into and I will
see you very soon
