Be my Valentines

Happy Friday peeps I hope you’re all fine and dandy and looking forward to the valentine’s weekend ahead I wonder how many of you are going to get spoilt???? I have had quite a crafty week I have been asked by my dear Mom in Law to make a couple of cards for upcoming events so have been busy designing those and of course I had to make him indoors a valentine’s card didn’t I (well I could have brought one I suppose but where’s the fun in that) Plus I guess I best be getting on and making Mother’s day cards as that is the beginning of next month (which I didn’t know until yesterday) Luckily I will only have to make 2 at the most one for my Mom in Law herself and one for her to send to her mom(best get me creative head back on me thinks).

Anyhoo without further waffle I’ll get on with the card I have for you today yes it’s the card I have made for Phil.

Now Phil and I (talking posh now hehe) have been together for years 29 in fact (not married for all of those…) and like everyone we have had our ups and downs and trials and whatever else the world has thrown at us but we have always stuck together and had each other backs  no matter what. To say he is my soul mate just doesn’t come close(yeah Jacki’s getting soppy well it is Valentine’s) We always have a laugh usually at the others expense but what the hell and I love him to bits.
The card I have made for him is an 8x8”card blank the (papers are the same as the ones I used for his mom & dad’s anniversary card I have just done it with a different sketch  LO and they are a mix of freebies from pixel scrapper and nitwits papers that were free either in a magazine or CD I can’t remember.

The image is of course from Mo Manning and is called Little Bear. Regular readers may remember him from when I made a friends card back in January, he is just adorable and fitting for so many occasions. As is the usual now I have coloured him with my polychromo pencils, then using a mask of the image I have done the background using DI when I have finished colouring and inking I filled the balloon area with glossy accents to make it look more shiny and balloon like, hope you can see it in the pics.

Now I wasn’t sure how to embellish this card I didn’t want it to hearts and flowers (if you know what I mean) then when I was making the embellishment for one of the cards for my Mom in Law I came across a balloon die that was a freebie in one of the card making magazines a while ago so the light bulb went off(or on oh well you know what I mean) so I die cut 3 or 4 as I wasn’t sure how many I would use I coloured them in with alcohol markers then added glossy accents and let dry. When dry I added embroidery thread to the bottom and attached to the card behind the tag I added. I was going to pop I U on them but decided to leave them plain and just have the greeting on the tag.

To finish the card as always I made the insert using the same papers as on the front and bringing the image through this time I faded it out to go behind the wording and flipped it on one of the pages.

Right then that is it from me today I will see you all very soon, I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s weekend whatever you are doing.
