Hello Grandparents

Hi Everyone, well I told you I would be back soon haha. So remember the first baby card I made well the proud Mom asked me if I could make a card she could send to her Mom & Dad sort of saying hello from the little one and she could send some pics with. I gave her an idea of what I had in mind and she said it was just what she was thinking of so off I went.

The card is as usual an 8x8 card (watch this space, there will a different size coming soon (0: )

The papers are a mix mainly from pixel scrapper but not sure which ones, for the LO I used a sketch from a very talented crafting lady Jules from Always with a heart. Where this lady gets her time to make sketches let alone anything else with all the lovely wedding invites she makes (plus we all know her from quick cards mag etc)is beyond me if you don’t know of her head over to her blog you’ll love it.

Anyway here is the sketch I used I think it is No 8 in the list but don’t hold me to it.
I held back from usual urge to distress the edges I did however have to ink them (you know how I hate white edges) I used worn lipstick (haha my dodgy one I’ll explain in a mo)and bundled sage.

Right my story with the worn lipstick ink pad well I was doing some inking and my spun sugar was a little dry so I got out my re-inker so that I could .. re ink it only in my haste to do so I had forgotten that I had just used worn lipstick and not put the lad back on so I poured my spun sugar reinker all over my worn lipstick ink pad. (Hhhhhhmmmmm I was NOT happy)but I should expect nothing less from myself I am blonde after all (hahaha)so I had to purchase a lovely new moist fresh worn lipstick (and a couple of others to keep it company in the post)and my lesson is learned (for now) always put the lids on!!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo back to the card I punch  6 hearts out 3 in 2 different sizes and inked with clear ink the frantaged and embossed with holographic embossing powder (so a large frantaged heart had a small holographic one in the centre and vise versa) then I added a gem the the small one set aside to be added later

The image is a mo manning called ‘fairy sleepy’ I love Mo’s fairies and this one is perfect for baby cards. I coloured her in (her because it’s a girl card) with pro markers and polychrome pencils (taking tips from some of the very talented ladies over at mo’s) Now I know a lot of people when they colour this image do the base a grass (I think that’s how it’s intended) but I was thinking more of a fluffy soft rug which is why mine is pink. Then it was on to the background for this I used old paper, antique linen, frayed burlap pumice stone and a touch of walnut stain.

Once coloured in I die cut the image with a circle die (xcuts) then glittered the wings, I then added string pearls to the edges (which I did distress  only because I needed a lip to adhere the pearls to) Oh I forgot to say I had added the sentiment to the image before printing off.

I then added the hearts I had made earlier and a double fussy bow made with green organza and pink satin ribbon and that was all I did embellishing wise I didn’t want to crowd the image to much and I think I did pretty well in holding back (haha)

The insert was made using matching papers and I did the same as I did in my last card in that I used a faded out image to go behind the verses.
As this card was a sort of congratulations to the Grandparents as well as hello I found a couple of verses that seemed to fit so I decided to use both (well why not?).

And there you have it job done I hope you like it and I will see you very soon
I will leave you with a list of challenges I would like to enter it into and another look at the gorgeous image

Thanks for popping over and leaving some love
Happy crafting

Ahh Jacki .. .. your card is super beautiful!

I love that sweet image with all its sparkle. I have never made a card from a baby to grandparents .. what a lovely thought.

Your use of my sketch is brilliant. So pleased you like them enough to want to use them. Thank you for the shout out too. You are very kind and have even made me blush a little.

Had to smile at your distress ink pad story. I have just had a new one called "something amber". It feels so heavy compared to my others. Think I need to do some re-inking!!

Hope you are having a good weekend.

Love Jules xx

p.s. loving your pencil cursor too!!
