commissioned special Birthday

Hi Everyone, well the weekend is here and look at the weather typical!!!! Never mind Footy season has started and tomorrow sees Phil’s team playing away for the first time (come on you Baggies!!!!!!) so that means peace and quiet for me as I will have the house to myself (YES!!!!!).

Anyway I have a couple of cards that I had to make this week so will show you one of them today (save the other for another time such a tease (o:)

The one I’m showing you today is a birthday card I was asked to make (again at short notice)

The card is 8½ sq base and the papers are from pixel scrapper which have been distressed and inked with barn door, mermaids lagoon and faded jeans DI.

The image is of course a Mo Manning creation called Bunches isn’t she the cutest?

I have coloured her in with prisma pencils then cut out distressed edges and inked with darn door.

The sentiment was PC generated and again inked with ban door once it had been given the distress treatment.

I made a large fussy bow from red satin and organza ribbon,  then I made some pearl flower embellishments and pins to go behind the bow.

To finish the front I added 3 red button to which I added iridescent cross stitch thread 2 of them I tied in a bow and the other just cross threaded it through the holes.

For the insert this time I did things a little different for a change, I used the same papers I used for the front but instead of just having the image uncoloured on the one page I decided to fade it out and have it behind the verse on both pages. I think it looks ok and just adds a bit of interest to the background.

As it was for a Mom’s special birthday I and I was told she likes verses (I know another lady that does too!)I thought I better pick a good one and I hope it is OK. That’s the trouble when someone asks you make one for them and you don’t the person you never know if you have hit the mark or not (if you know what I mean).

Anyway there you have it I will see you again very soon with another commissioned card until then I will leave you with another look at the sweet image and a list of challenges I would like to enter it into
