Precious Baby

Hi everyone I hope you are all well and happy I wish this weather would hurry up and warm up I can’t believe we are nearly out of June and still no summer of sorts not good GB :( I was asked to make a christening card b y the same friend that asked for the blue wedding card, her Son and Daughter in Law have just had a little girl and she is being Christened in a few weeks time. So I asked did she want a religious one or one more about the baby she said the later but other than that and she wanted her name on it it was down to me(no pressure there then lol)

So what do you do when you can do anything eeekkkkk :o0

The card is an 8½” square card blank which I made from 480gsm card stock

Searching for papers I decided not to use any baby papers but to go with pinks and yellow/creams and the ones I chose were from bearly mine (for once not freebies).

The papers have of course been inked and distressed.

The image is called Baby Girl from Mo Manning I added the baby’s name to the uimage before printing off then coloured with polychrome pencils this image was one of the hardest I have coloured so far it took me about 4 tries before I got it to a level I was happy with I wanted really soft colours but for some reason I think I am layering to heavy anyway once happy I distressed the edges and added frontage to the image.

The flowers I have made from coffee filter papers which were coloured with distress inks then die cut out using various dies some from Sue Wilson . I then made a large fussy bow from wide lace and organza ribbon adding a pink dummy to the knot in the centre and some pins at the top. To finish off I added decorative flat backed pearls to the papers and a rose one above her name then some gems in the corners of the sentiment.

Finally it was the insert as always using papers from the front and faux layering I then brought the image through to tie it all together with a verse

So there you have my card for today hope you like it and I will see you very soon
