The final installment of the birthday saga!!!!

Hi Again I’m back today with my final card for Amy’s birthday of this year Phew!!!!!!

Now I don’t about you but I do struggle when you are asked to make quite a few cards for the same person the last thing want for them is to have a row of cards that are the same design and so on so fingers crossed the ones I have made are all very different.
Now for the last one this is from myself and Phil and as soon as I saw the image I knew I had to use it for Amy it was sooooooooo her the only difference is she uses her tablet rather than laptop but as far as sitting with internet and headphones and hair tied up this is Amy to a T.
Now you might want to take a few deep breathes and relax yourselves before I show you the card as it’s one you will NOT be seeing very often, it’s a one layer card with (wait for it.......) NO EMBELLISHMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I know can you believe it but yes it’s true) look!!! Not a gem in sight

So why, what, and WTF!!!!! Well let me explain ... I coloured the image in before I even thought of a design for the card (as I had with the other images used for Amy’s previous cards shown) and I even went and masked it off and inked the background(I know but go with it) as I was going to make my usual sort of card (as others)BUT  as I was looking through my papers for inspiration and so on I saw what was to become the background and I had that really scary light bulb moment (you know the one when your brain  actually wakes up and says ah-ha!!!!) (Yikes!!!!!)
Now I knew what I wanted to do but if it looked pants then I had coloured the image and cut it out all for nothing as I would have had to do it all again, and I’m still not sure about it, maybe because it’s so different for me but anyway it’s done now.

So the backing paper is yes a freebie and is one complete piece so I just made and 8x8 (ish) card and wrapped the paper round the back to hide the seam.

Then I went in search of a photo of the delightful birthday girl. Now I could have been a really evil mom and put this one on

Look at those cheeks!!!!!!!!

But I thought no play nice it’s her birthday after all, so I decided to go with the picture she had taken at her school prom when she was sweet 16 it’s hard to believe that was 7 years ago I remember the prom day so clearly (and back to reality)
So I got a digital frame and made the pic fit the frame to look like it was a picture on the wall then I also printed another frame cut this out and using 3d pads put it on top to give some depth then I made the sentiment and did the same. The sentiment seemed a little stark and to white though so I stippled DI over it before adding the frame.

Then like I said I fussy cut the image out, now the image is yet another of Mo Manning’s creations and I have coloured it with polychrome pencils and have any of you eagle eyed peeps spotted I coloured the cat in to look like Scruff (well that was my intention) I then used more 3d foam and secured the image in place and job done

Then to finish off the card as always I needed an insert so taking the top section of the backing paper I used this to make my insert bringing the image through to tie it all together but keeping it uncoloured and then adding a gorgeous verse called ‘Wonderful Daughter’ you can find full verse below

So there you have it I hope you like it and I will leave you as always with another look at the beautiful image and a list of challenges I would to enter it into.

How do you tell a wonderful daughter,
Just how much she means to you
When there are no words to describe
The gift of precious memories
She’s given from the moment
She came into your life.
How can you tell her
All the ways she has made a difference
To your world when nothing can truly measure
The happiness and pride you have felt.
Watching her face life’s challenges
And shaping her fondest dreams.
How can you tell a wonderful daughter
All the feelings your heart holds
For her and her alone,
Except simply to say
You are loved so very much.

Thanks for all your comments and I will see you very soon (need to get wedding card done now eeeeeekkkkkkk)

I just love your card, Jacki! I saw it on the Bella and Bronte Facebook page and actually bought the stamp for the same thing--a card for my 23 year old daughter! She is heading into her LAST final exam session as she graduates May 9th and has been studying a lot! I love how you did the "wall" background! You have a new fan in me! Thanks for sharing your lovely card and your blog with us in the United States!

I LOVE it!! That little scene you created is adorable!! I love damask so that "wallpaper" is fabulous in my opinion. And the picture in the frame is a genius idea! Thanks for playing with us at LTSCB.

Wonderful card and wonderful poem for your birthday daughter. It would be very easy for me to say that you are 100% sweet, but there lurks that evil mom who showed (at least in the crafting world) us the same picture you had thought for a second to put on the card and didn't. So, I see now that you are a gifted crafter and a woman who when her feet hit the ground the devil says Oh Shoot!! LOL Fun post, thanks for sharing! and Thanks for joining us at Craft Your Passion challenge this week!

Just curious where you got the background from. I would love to get or make something like it, but have never seen the wood work look so real. What an awesome job you did on this card. Simply brillant!!!
