Spead your wings and fly

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all well and those who are not I wish you a speedy recovery.
So what's been going on here then well Friday as you know was the funeral of my cousin in law (if that is the term) it was a beautiful service even for someone like me who isn't religious it stuck a cord even Phil said he choked up a couple of times and that is a compliment. the only fault I have with the funeral (apart from there really shouldn't have been one if you know what I mean) is that it was blooming freezing, why are those place always so cold even in the middle of a heatwave they feel sub zero.
Then on Sunday it footy day for Phil but he was going up north and was only a few miles away from a very special friend so I decided to go with the motley crew :-) and visit her. Oh I had a lovely day but I so jealous of her craft room and all her goodies hehehe we had a very long (as you can image) natter about this and that. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I did make a card though Saturday but have had to wait to take decent pics as every time I have had the time to do it it's been to dull :-( but fear not I have taken them now and you don't have to wait any longer (heheheh)

I have made it using the new digital download from Pokla Doodles Octavia moonfly using an image, sentiment and some of the gorgeous papers

I kept the LO pretty simple distressed the edges and inked with freyed burlap

The image was coloured with a mix of pro/flexi markers and prisma pencils. I then wanted to add a bit of darkness to the background  and used DI on it but as I didn't use watercolour paper obviously it didn't blend very well (oh well lesson learned)
I used liquid pearls around the unicorn and glitter for it's uni thingy and on Octavia's wings.

The bow I made using the same papers as the for the carddie cut circles out it and put the together to make the bow then added a rolled flower to centre with a flat backed pearl

I punched the sentiment out and inked and distressed the edges then added a couple more rolled flowers I added burlap and lace behind the image then mounted the image straight on top and was really good and left it at that (can you tell it's killing me trying to keep things C&S hehe)

So there you have my card for today I will leave you with a list of challenges and another look at the gorgeous image

Thanks for popping over and Hello to newbie followers nice to meet you

take care and I will see you soon

Hello Jacki. Oh my goodness, what a beauty and such a wonderful image too. I love the papers, and I must say that you are a dab hand at making those stunning bows, so clever, but it sets the card off perfectly.
Sorry not been in touch, but I will as soon as able.
Good luck with all the challenges, it deserves to be a WINNER.
Happy crafting my dear friend.
Lots of love, Sandra xx
