Hello everyone I hope you are all well and those that have this horrid flu hope you get well very soon as it does seem to be lingering
Did you all have a good Christmas I hope so we had a nice family one still a little noisy for me so took me a couple of days to get over it, luckily there was plenty of washing up to be done through the day so kept nipping out to do that to get some 'quiet time'. We have Christmas at my Mom in laws every year now so it helps her out as well as giving me a break from all the chatter
I bet you are all getting ready to see in the new year, parties and gatherings those were the days I do love new year but can't celebrate it now a days so we stay at home and have a quiet night (except for fireworks eeekkkkk)
Anyway I have a card for you today a birthday card for a friend who's birthday is a week into new year
I have kept with the images of late and used Mo Manning Fairy Needle as this friend loves cross stitch so I thought it was rather apt for her
the papers are all freebies and have been printed onto matt grain photo paper then distressed and inked with Tim Holtz DI in purple shades. Then I used a Sakura gelly roll pen to add stitch detail (also used white gel pen)
I printed the sentiment straight onto the paper
The image as I said is from Mo manning and hasd been coloured with pro markers
Linen, Antique white, Champangne, light fawn, Blossom, Cappuccino (skin)
I also added some glitter to her wings, I then made little slits by her feet and in the needle eye so I could thread DMC thread through and glue into place wrapping round her leg as it was drawn. When all dry I fussy cut her out and mounted onto a die cut spellbinder label I cut using my new cut n boss (xmas prezzie from Phil yayyyyy) Still getting used to it but I love it which Ialso inked with purple DI
Then I added seed adding to her wings and around the outside of her
The flowers are from my stash sadly I didn't make them this time but when my crafty head get back in the swing of things I will be making more as I love doing them
Then I added a large fussy double bow which I made using to shade of purple organza ribbon
adding a purple gem to centre
Finally to finish off I pulled it all together by adding the insert which was made by using the same papers then adding a faded matt (all done digitally) then I cut around the image and added her to the one page with a verse on the other
for this card I decided to keep her uncoloured for the insert and there you have it
I will leave you now with a list of challenges I would like to enter it into and I would liketo thank you all for you support, comments and friendship and to wish you all a very happy, crafty and creative new year
