Best day ever

Hello fellow crafty friends, I hope you all had a marvelous weekend.I had quite a slow but productive one. I have one more 65th birthday card to make for my MiL's birthday in a couple of weeks but at least I got 2 done the first being the red one I posted on Saturday.
For today's card I have used a Sugar Nellie image called best day ever, When I saw her I just had to have to have her, so I did :o))))))

This card is from me and Phil and I am really pleased with the finished look  I did at first do a decoupaged version but decided I didn't like it (after colouring the image exactly the same 4 times gggrrrrrr :o/ )

anyhooooo here it is

Again it's an 8x8" card so quite a big one.
All papers are as usual freebies and have been distressed and this time I didn't ink them (gasp shock horror) it was trying not to bite your nails but I was determined to have white edges for a change lol.
I matted them onto white which I also distressed but not inked. I machine stitched some of the papers and faux stitched some
I added a piece of blue flower shaped lace to the long thin strip of paper which was from my stash

As I said the image is from Sugar nellie and they are having a DT call at the mo so I thought I would enter this card see if I got anywhere but more about that in a mo

she has been coloured in with my trusty pro markers and I used

Blush, soft peach, sandstone, pastel pink (skin)
Tan, cappuccino, satin, nutmeg (hair)
Cloud blue,  blender  (flowers)
Pastel blie, glacier blue, blue pearl, cornflower (dress)
Pastel pink, ice grey 1,2, 5  (mouse)

I didn't realise until just that the card they have on the blog showing this image is also in blue although that is where I saw it first (me thinks I need my eyes checking haha)
I cut the image out using an x cut scalloped oval the ickle mousie ended up having his tail chopped off it was easier than cutting around him so I just decoupaged him over when I had inked the edges, yes I had to ink some edges come on I had been really good until then hahah.I added some cheese clothe/ gauze behind image for texture.
I also decided to add random seed beads around the image don't ask me why I just felt like it so I did (what else can I say but I think ok)

Now the flowers I have made again except the roses and the blue flowers with yellow middle I made them but they were already cut they just had to have the stamens added and shaped and I put more than one on per flower I also made the spiral stamen and then berry heads too( I quite enjoy making them and they are so easy to do).

then I made a start on the inside, now usually I make my insert digitally and all one layer but I decided I wanted to do it a little different this time so I printed off the main insert papers as it's 8x8 I had to do it one sheet per half then I printed the next layer with the oval digitally cut out and bringing the image into it for the one side and a verse on the other then I inked these and then stuck manually onto the other piece, so inside has a bit of dimension too.

forgot to say I used tumbled glass DI

Now as I said the lovely peeps over at the sugar bowl are having a DT call so I am going to enter my card. I think everyone loves Sugar Nellie images so I'd be mad not to.

So there you have it I'm keeping everything crossed and I will leave you with an arty view of image and a list of challenges I would like to enter this card into.
Thanks for popping over see you soon
