Art deco never fails

Hello my dear crafty friend I hope you are all well and had a fabby weekend, I know I did. I got so engrossedin making all the embellishments for this card I have to show you I nearly forgot about the actual card until I realised I had nowhere to put everythig I had made heheh :o)))))) oh well what can I say.

So my card well eeeekkkkkk I had a text last weekend from Phil saying can you make Dad a card for Mom. I had just about got the others done and thought that was it for another year lol but noooooooo,Also I know he loves getting her nice expensive cards and very rarely asks me to make one so I asked Phil how come he had asked me, Phil said because he had looked everywhere and couldn't find a card that said wife and 65 on so that was what he wanted no preasure then!!!!

So I pulled out all the stops for this one folks made all the embellishments and went to town with glitter and embossing powders

The card is a large 8 x 8" card and look how gorgeous those papers are I love them they are from Craftsuprint.
I saw them when looking for the image I used on the sympathy card I made, of course I had to change the colour of them as they are originally a brownish colour but it's hard to believe they are totally flat but look so deeply embossed. I matted them onto a leather look black paper and followed the sketch from http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

I made all the flowers from tissue paper, coffee filter paper, distress inks seed beads and pearls
(fire brick, festive berries, barn door) I also made the spirals and berries using craft wire nail caviar(micro beads)

I embossed the corners with red  and red glitter powder and also black Distress powder  I did the same with the butterflies and hearts that I punched out of watercolour card. I also made the pearl strands which are at the back of the flowers these have been coloured with pro markers chilli red and black to match colour scheme.

I went with an art deco image as they are so classy and lend themselves to so many occasions and I know my MiL loves them and of course they scream for glitter so I HAD to oblige. I used some holographic red on the roses and some fine iridescent on her dress and head gear then I used a coarser one for the stars

you can see it better in this picture

I added 2 antique tacks to the long this panel of paper these have also been embiossed with ditress powder giving a rough grungy feel to them.
I made the sentiments on my computer and cut them out one into a tag shape and inked with fired brick then added some glitter around the edges
here is a close up of the flowers and spirals I made

so there you have my card today I will leave you with an arty pic of image and a list of challenges I would like to enter my card into
Thank  you for popping over and all your lovely comments also a big thank you to my new followers I know some of you have joined me from my old blog but it's still nice to see you over here
